Palworld's December Update Needs to Give One Pal Element its Due

Palworld is gearing up to become an amazing hybrid of the monster-capturing and survival genres, as its developer, Pocketpair, is constantly putting time and effort into its growth. Since its release in early access, it has undergone many changes, most of which have improved the game and its many aspects. And it looks as if Pocketpair is getting even more serious about making its creation bigger and better than it already is, as Palworld is getting a massive update this December. While it’s clear that the upcoming patch will have some interesting additions, perhaps it’s also an opportunity for the game to show long-overdue love towards a certain Pal element.

With every major update, there are expectations for Palworld to add in new Pals. Given that the next one involves an area at least six times bigger than Sakurajima Island, it would be logical for it to contain lots of undiscovered monsters. Pocketpair could use this to increase the number of Water element Pals, as the small number of 14 currently available doesn’t make sense in a game that features such large bodies of water. Other than giving the element the improvement it deserves, the change could also affect Palworld in ways that can help it become more appealing to those looking for an enjoyable monster-capturing experience.

Palworld has certainly changed a lot since its launch in January, and now it won’t be leaving 2024 quiet, as it leaves with a major update in tow.

Why Palworld’s December Update Should Prioritize Adding More Water Element Pals

The Water element Pals of Palworld are powerful creatures but can be seen as lacking by players. Since the game’s release, the aquatic typing has barely seen any additions or changes, making the monsters that fall under it one of the less desirable ones. The December update should fix that by adding more, and doing so actually benefits the game in a variety of ways, such as:

  • Adding more Water element Pals could mean a shift in the current combat meta, preventing fights in the game from going stale
  • Showing players that Pocketpair understands what Pal elements require change and letting them know that the developer is truly focused on giving them the best experience
  • Opening up the possibilities of more ways to travel Palworld‘s large bodies of water and making players want to spend more time in the game to try them

Palworld‘s December update looks huge for fans, as there’s no telling what it could have given the large island it’s expected to come with. There is a chance for it to include some new Water element pals, and if it does, then the game would likely be better off with the addition.

How Palworld’s December Update Could Introduce More Water Pals

Even if Pocketpair wanted to introduce more Pals with the Water element, it has to do so in a way that feels natural, which is why the game’s December patch is the perfect opportunity. The huge island that’s set to come with the update means there will be a lot of new areas, meaning it would be easy to dedicate one specifically to aquatic monsters. It would be easy to provide a reason why it’s there, as a huge new environment also means a large ecosystem, meaning it wouldn’t be out of place to have a location with lakes, swamps, or rivers, and creatures that reside in them. Such an area of the island will make the addition of more monsters of the water element more seamless and has the potential to become a desirable place to visit. Should Pocketpair want to emphasize the improvements made to the water element, the developer could have the new location contain an entity that could be one of the strongest and scariest Pals in Palworld.

The exciting December 2024 update for Palworld means that the game is in for many new additions, and more water element Pals could be one of them. Seeing as to how the typing requires some improvement, Pocketpair should have highly considered it during the development of the patch, and hopefully, it will happen.
