One Piece has many powerful characters. This will be One Piece’s most powerful character in the end.
Given that Elbaf is a part of the Final Saga of One Piece, fans expect great things from it. Expectations shot up even higher after the Egghead Island Arc, which saw many major reveals being made by Vegapunk during his speech. Now, things are only going to get more exciting moving forward and Elbaf might actually go on to reveal some massive pieces of information from the Void Century, especially a short flashback about Joy Boy.
The Connection Between Nika, Joy Boy, And The Giants
- Nika and Joy Boy Are Both Connected To The Land Of Giants
- The Myths Of Nika Came From Elbaf
When one wonders about Elbaf’s connection to the Void Century, naturally, Nika comes up. Nika is known to be a God that might have existed long ago in the One Piece world and this deity is known to have hailed from Elbaf. All myths about Nika come from Elbaf, as was confirmed by Vegapunk himself. Whether Nika’s tales were true or not is irrelevant. But fans need to keep in mind that Nika is worshiped by the people of Elbaf, which connects these Giants directly to the Void Century in many ways. As fans know, during the Void Century, the pirate named Joy Boy was prevalent.
He was the first to be called a pirate! – Vegapunk
He was the first pirate ever and, at the same time, fans know that his strength was absolutely immaculate. Another peculiar thing about him was that Joy Boy held the power of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika gave him the power to transform into Nika and become the Sun God itself. With this incredible power, he fought against the World Government in an enthralling war, and liberated people who were suffering in chains. At the same time, fans know that Nika was allied with the Giants, and this is implied by there being an Iron Giant who was allied with him. Clearly, the relationship between the Giants of the old age and Nika was a good one.
To take things one step further, fans were recently made aware of the fact that a Devil Fruit which is believed to be legendary in status was being protected by the royal line in Elbaf for many centuries. It was eventually eaten by Loki, and Loki believes himself to be the Sun God. Clearly, the implication is that Loki ate the Nika fruit. Of course, fans know that this fruit is in possession of Luffy, so what exactly is going down there is unclear at this point in time. But, regardless of that, clearly, the people of Elbaf are aware of there being a Sun God and a Devil Fruit granting powers of this deity.
The warrior of liberation, also known as the Sun God, Nika! – The Five Elders
Similarly, Luffy is now the Sun God and the Giants of Elbaf recognize this. When Dorry and Brogy, along with the Giant Warrior Pirates, pulled up on Egghead, they clearly called Luffy the Sun God and recognized him to be similar to the God that they worship. It is only a matter of time before fans get further exposition on the concept of the Sun God and the tales surrounding the Void Century.
The Lifespan Of The Giants Matters A Lot
The Giants Will Know The History Of Joy Boy
While the emergence of the Sun God from Elbaf in itself is proof of the fact that this country is tied directly to the Void Century, another intriguing fact is that the Giants of Elbaf live long. In fact, the average giant lives over three times as much as the average human. This means that their lifespan is well into 300 years, at the very least. One of the surviving members of the former captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, Jorul, is actually 408 years old, which is staggering.

One Piece: The Death Of A Straw Hat, Explained
Many fans believe a Straw Hat will die in One Piece. Here’s why.
To put into perspective, the Void Century ended 800 years ago and Jorul is 408 years old. Just one or two generations ago, people from Jorul’s bloodline would have fought against the World Government. In fact, his grandparents could easily have taken part in the battle against the World Government, if they were alive at the time.
As such, the people of Elbaf are the closest known source that fans have to the Void Century, which means that they are also likely the most unadulterated source, and possibly the ones with the most information. Fans should expect the giants of Elbaf to drop massive information pertaining to the Void Century at some point in the Elbaf arc, and characters such as Jarul are likely going to be key to that.
Why The Giants Hold The Key To The Void Century
The Giants Will Give Fans A Joy Boy Flashback
Given that the connection with Sun God is the strongest when it comes to the Giants of the One Piece world, and the fact that they live around 300 to 400 years, the Giants are the best possible way for the fans to find out more information about the Joy Boy. Then, the case of Saul exists as well. Fans know that Saul carries all the information that was dug up by the people of Ohara, and that he has established a whole library in Elbaf. He too has key information from the Void Century that he could have researched more over the years, and, taking everything into consideration, this arc is going to be full of massive reveals.
Fans will likely find out key information about how the Giants fought long ago in the Great War, what happened to them, and possibly even how the war was lost. Major clues about the massive war that erupted long ago will be provided, and fans might even get to hear about the flooding of the world and why Elbaf is built the way it is. Furthermore, the fact that the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf is tied to the Sun God and is being passed down the royal family is proof that this country has more to do with Nika, Joy Boy, and of course, the last past than one would think. Of course, at the moment, more focus is on Loki and other exciting elements of the Elbaf arc, but sooner rather than later, fans will see eyes being turned towards a Joy boy flashback, and hopefully, it will be just as exciting as fans would have imagined.
All fans need to do is sit back patiently and wait for Oda to drop these masses reveals, and with that, change the face of the One Piece world forever. One Piece is edging closer to the Great War, and it is time that fans found out more information about the major war that was led by Joy Boy long ago in the past.
