Fortnite OG takes players all the way back to the earliest days possible of the global phenomenon of Fortnite in its origins with a return to the Chapter 1 map in its first Season.

The veterans of Fortnite might be enticed to come back, and even more recent players might understand the appeal when they see the most nostalgic things that Fortnite OG has to offer returning players so that they can immerse in the origins of everyone’s favorite Battle Royale experience.
6 OG Locations
The Chapter 1 Map Brims With Iconic POIs
Once players drop from the Battle Bus in Fortnite OG, they might remember the beautiful landscape below, to which some truly stunning and classic POIs come to life. OG locations like Anarchy Acres, Loot Lake, Dusty Depot, and more, all feature in Fortnite OG, providing some simplified landing spots for players to enjoy like it’s their first match all over again.
While the Fortnite OG map is set to evolve into its later Seasons, it’s still a grand time for all to see these founding spots return, especially when visiting them greets players with the familiar menu music from years ago and the text in the POI turns from gray to white, just like it did back in the day.
5 The Sound Effects for Collecting Loot
Unique and Nostalgic Sound Effects at Every Turn
It’s never been more important than it is in Fortnite OG to collect loot as fast as possible, and the sound effects present are part of the charm. Not only is it adoring to see the return of the Epic rarity Assault Rifle that becomes a SCAR, but the return of the sound effects associated with looting brings back immense nostalgia.

Fortnite OG: All Hidden Quests
From double-pumping to rocket riding, players will have to get into all kinds of trouble to complete these hidden quests in Fortnite OG.
The OG sounds have the softest sci-fi chimes that make for an even greater reward than finding loot in the first place. It’s a subtle touch that adds so much nostalgia due to how the sound effects play a subtle yet large part in the design, especially since these sounds haven’t been heard in years.
4 Launch Pads and Traps
Original Designs That Have Not Featured in Years
When players loot up in Fortnite OG, they might find themselves picking up a Launch Pad, a Trap, or even both. Despite the lack of building in Zero Build, players can still grab these items to place on pre-made floors and ceilings, and it’s fun to see their return considering their absence over the years, perhaps providing how OP they could be.
Traps are as deadly as ever, and the ability to escape or chase teams with the Launch Pad just proves why it was removed in the first place. It’s fun to see the early days of Fortnite again with the unvaulting of Traps, but new players might now know why they haven’t returned to normal modes.
3 The Double Pump Strategy
The Infamous Method of Shotgun Warfare
There is nothing more fearsome and OP than that of the Double Pump, an infamous strategy used in the early Seasons of Chapter 1. The Double Pump allowed players to use two Pump Shotguns with no penalty from switching out different shotguns, allowing for an instant fire of pellets that deal a lethal amount of damage at close range.
One shot with a Pump Shotgun is bad enough, but continuously firing two with one after the other? The Double Pump is a death sentence to whoever comes across it, and to see it return might be nostalgic, but it’s also something that most players can’t wait to see vaulted again after facing down the barrel of two shotguns in every fight.
2 A Simplified Loot Pool
Keeping it Simple, Overpowered, and Dangerous
On the topic of Pump Shotguns, players can expect the original loot pool to return for Fortnite OG, where things were once simple. There’s no intricate loot and Oni Masks found in Fortnite OG, and the rarest thing players can find is a Legendary Scar Assault Rifle. The simplified loot pool takes players back to the founding days of Fortnite where Mythics and Exotic weapons were but a myth.

Fortnite celebrates its 7th anniversary in 2024, but within that time, there are still some skins that haven’t returned in over half that time.
The OG loot pool that consists of the original SMG design, limited ammo, barely any shields, and a ton of OP explosives, shows how far Fortnite has come from its early days, and the nostalgia is certainly high when it comes to picking up these iconic and simple weapons.
1 The Original Victory Royale Screen
A Classy Dub That Lacks the Special Effects of Modern Fortnite
Upon claiming a dub in Fortnite OG, players will be met with the iconic Victory Royale screen of old. There’s no longer that slow-motion final shot or Victory Crown to brag to friends and strangers in the pre-game lobby, as instead players are just met with a simple 1 Victory Royale!
While the original Victory Royale screen isn’t as cinematic or rewarding as it is currently in Chapter 6, it’s still fun to hark back to simpler times when all that was given to players was a congratulation screen before heading back to the lobby to drop from the Battle Bus again.
