Midnight Murder Club developer Velan Studios revealed the game’s early access launch window during this year’s The Game Awards pre-show, announcing that Midnight Murder Club will be available on both PS5 and PC at some point in early 2025. Better yet, it also announced that a crossplay beta demo is now available, and will run all the way up to December 22.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a specific release date to share right now, but Velan Studios will likely share more news in the near future given the release date is relatively soon. For now, you can check out the demo beta, whether you want to play with friends on PC or PS5, to see if it’s the kind of game you’d like to check out when it actually releases.
What Is Midnight Murder Club?
If this is the first time you’ve heard of Midnight Murder Club, allow me to elaborate for you. The game drew a lot of attention earlier this year, back when its open beta was released, for its unique little twist on your fairly standard first-person shooter gameplay. For starters, you and up to five friends are shrouded in the pitch black of a spooky manor, with only a flashlight as your source of light.
Using your flashlight lets you see, but it also lets other players see your location too, meaning it’s a delicate balance of feeling around in the dark, whilst also using your flashlight sporadically to make sure you’re not about to be ganked from behind.

What’s Geoff Keighley’s Deal With The Muppets?
The Muppets are set to appear at The Game Awards again this year. But… why?
Of course, you have more sense than just sight, and your hearing will be just as important, as Midnight Murder Club boasts “detailed positional audio”, as well as built in proximity chat that will actually echo through the halls of the mansion, and possibly give your location away.
For the DualSense owners out there, you’ll be pleased to know that features have already been built in for PS5 and Steam, as you’ll feel it in your controller when you bump into things while stumbling around in the dark, while the adaptive triggers will give some real force to your shots and flashlight activations.
Midnight Murder Club will launch in early access with various modes, but you’ll be able to try out two in the demo. Free-For-All is exactly what it sounds like, pitting you against five other people in a massive brawl, while Thief in the Night tasks teams with collecting skulls and trading them in for cash. You can try these out right now, so if you fancy getting your murder on this evening, you know where to go.
