Game developer Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions has at least three games in development right now, and given he’s a close friend of Geoff Keighley, many expected Kojima to reveal something during The Game Awards. That didn’t happen, though, and Kojima has now apologized.
Posting on social media, Kojima said he had “no announcements” to share this year in part because of his responsibilities as a presenter. In 2023, Kojima had a big reveal for The Game Awards, as he and director Jordan Peele announced the Xbox game OD at the event. For The Game Awards 2024, Kojima said, “Sorry about that” in terms of the lack of announcements from Kojima Productions.
This time for TGA, I was a presenter so I had no announcements. Sorry about that🙇🏻🙏

Kojima’s upcoming projects include the aforementioned OD, which is exclusive to Xbox, as well as the PlayStation-exclusive Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Beyond that, Kojima is making a spy-thriller game called Physint for PlayStation.
Outside of video games, Kojima is helping to develop a Death Stranding movie with A24, but it’s still early days.
While there were no Kojima-related announcements at The Game Awards, the event was filled with big reveals, including a new IP from Naughty Dog called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
