Path of Exile 2 is an always online game, meaning every time you are in town you’ll be surrounded by other players or various levels, letting you see other builds and classes that can be tried out. While the game can be played solo when you explore the various areas, there will always be multiplayer aspects in the game.
When you first start the game, crossplay will be turned on, giving you a huge array of players that you’ll run into, and can play and train with. While there is no way to turn off multiplayer overall, turning off crossplay will at least limit to number of people you see in the game. If you want to limit those you interact with or expand it; here’s how to control crossplay.

While in the game, you can open up the main menu and scroll down to, “Options” which is the third option from the top. This will open the same menu where you can tab over to Game and disable crossplay.

What Can Be Done With Other Players In Path of Exile 2
While you can disable or enable Crossplay, all the multiplayer elements of Path of Exile 2 are cooperative, as there is no PVP system currently in the game at the time of writing this article. All the things you can do with other players include:
- Play in a party together.
- Make or join a guild.
- Use the chat feature to chat in various channels.
- Trade gear.
Overall there are no negative effects to playing cross-platform, as this game focuses on teamwork over everything. The world chat can also be a great place to ask questions and connect with other players to find someone to play or trade with. With Crossplay disabled, the total number of people in the world channel will be more limited, but there will always be a decent number of players either way.
