Helldivers 2 Limited Edition DualSense Controller Revealed, Preorders Live December 20

Helldivers 2 Limited Edition DualSense Controller Revealed, Preorders Live December 20

Helldivers 2 has been one of 2024’s biggest hits, and if you’re looking to celebrate the game in style, a new and super-democratic DualSense controller sounds like the best way to do so. The Helldivers 2 Limited Edition DualSense Controller costs $85 and releases February 6, 2025. Preorders will be available in limited quantities starting December 20 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. Unlike the recently released Astro Bot and Fortnite DualSense Controllers, you will only be able to preorder the Helldivers 2 DualSense at PlayStation Direct.

The Helldivers 2 DualSense controller has some neat nods to the game it’s inspired by. It’s decorated in symbols pulled straight from Super-Earth’s military, it has simulated wear and tear, handy reminders of what each button does in the game, and on the touchpad you’ll find a grim reminder that death is just one badly positioned stratagem away.

The Helldivers 2 game is also pretty fantastic, as it mixes superb action with satire to create one of the best co-op experiences of the year. If you’re interested in checking it out, several retailers currently have it on sale for $30 (was $40) on PS5. You can snag Helldivers 2 for even less on PC, as Fanatical has Steam keys for $28. If you feel like splurging, you can get the Helldivers 2: Super Citizen Edition and tons of extra DLC with it for $42 (was $60).

In case you haven’t gone hands-on with it yet, the DualSense is a superb controller and one of the best that Sony has ever made. It can be used wirelessly on PS5, PS4, and PC, and it has a range of haptic feedback features that help to make games feel more immersive, like nuanced vibrations and adaptive triggers. The controller really shines when used with PlayStation Studios games like Astro Bot, Marvel’s Spider-Man or Helldivers 2, but it’s worth noting that you’ll need to have the controller tethered via USB-C on PC to make use of that advanced technology. Still, it’s worth the hassle once you feel it in action.

This will likely sell out very quickly, as Sony doesn’t often make limited-edition DualSense controllers like this. The Astro Bot controller is a good example here, as that particular DualSense was extremely popular and fetches a high price on the reseller market. You can, however, still find the Fortnite Limited Edition DualSense in stock for $85 at Best Buy.

PlayStation’s holiday deal on DualSense controllers has ended, but you can still save big on the PlayStation VR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle, PS5 Slim console bundles, and a bunch of PS5-exclusive games.
