Harrison Ford Pulled A John Travolta At The Game Awards

The Game Awards brought some star power early in the show, as Harrison Ford dropped by for a surprise appearance during the presentation for Best Performer. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s lead performer Troy Baker–who voices Indy in the game-initially came out alongside Bethesda’s Todd Howard, who pitched the game to George Lucas years ago. But it didn’t take long before Ford came out on stage to John Williams’ iconic Raiders of the Lost Ark theme.

Ford was very gracious to both Baker and Howard, as he praised The Great Circle and asked the audience to cheer for them. He also gave Baker high marks for his performance as Indy and joked that if he had known that the voice over actor was so good that he would have done the role himself.

In an amusing moment, Ford motioned for the teleprompter to advance to the nominees for Best Performance. Melina Juergens won for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. Unfortunately, Ford mangled her name during the announcement. It may remind some viewers of John Travolta’s “Adele Dazeem” moment from the Oscars in 2014.

Ford isn’t the first A-list celebrity to lend some Hollywood credibility to The Game Awards. In 2022, Al Pacino presented the Best Performance to Christopher Judge for his leading role as Kratos in God of War Ragnarok.
