On October 2, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 14 housing plots in North America would have their automatic demolition timers temporarily paused. The company said that the pause was due to the damage caused by Hurricane Helene across parts of the eastern and southern US, and the developers expressed their sympathies to all players affected by the storm. During the demolition moratorium, Final Fantasy 14‘s automatic demolition timers were frozen at whatever time was left for each plot, with the maximum being 45 days. At the time of writing, the timers are still paused, and Final Fantasy 14 players who enter their homes can reset them to the full 45 days without worry.
