Ella Purnell stars on Prime Video’s Fallout series and Netflix’s League of Legends show Arcane, but don’t expect her to sign up for other video game adaptations in the future. She said at a recent convention that she plans to “stay away” from video game adaptations to avoid being typecast as “the video game girl.”
“Here’s the truth, and I feel guilty saying this, but I’m not a gamer, and I don’t know how I’ve managed to land two video game adaptations that have both been good,” she said (via GamesRadar). “I don’t know how that’s happened, but it has. I don’t know the answer.”
Purnell went on to say: “I actually think I need to stay away from video game adaptations now, because I’m going to get typecast. I’m going to be the video game girl. There are worse things to be than that, I suppose.”
If Purnell does indeed to decide to hang it up as it relates to video game adaptations, she may go out on a high note, as fans adored her characters on Fallout (Lucy) and Arcane (Jinx).
But fans haven’t seen the last of Purnell as Lucy, as she’s set to come back in Fallout Season 2. As for Arcane, the most expensive animated TV project in history recently wrapped up its second season. Purnell penned a heartfelt goodbye message for the show, saying it was the “greatest honor” to voice Jinx.
Purnell was on hand at The Game Awards this week and appeared on stage to accept the award for Best Adaptation for Fallout.
