Zhongli Team Comp Guide – Genshin Impact

One of the shield’s biggest Supportive abilities is the debuffing of enemies around it to any Element, even Physical. All that and many more features make Zhongli a top-tier Support who can fit in nearly any team comp in Genshin Impact. Thanks to the many new additions of support and DPS, Zhongli has more teams that he fits perfectly in.

1 Zhongli + Neuvillette + Furina + Xilonen

When pairing Neuvillette and Furina in Genshin Impact, you’ll always have a team with an insane DPS. Furina carries a strong DMG buff in her Elemental Burst if the team can meet the requirement, and that’s why Neuvillette is so good with her. The Hydro Dragon can alone maximize her Fanfare points and the buff she can give. On top of that, Xilonen can further buff Neuvillette and debuff enemies around him while triggering the Geo Resonance with Zhongli, which adds 15% DMG.

Since Neuvillette’s charged attack requires a lot of work to set up and takes time to be fully cast, it’s important to have a good shielder like Zhongli who’ll ensure Neuvillette never gets interrupted when beaming enemies with water. Zhongli additionally shreds enemies’ resistance while his shield is up, which further increases the team’s DPS.

2 Zhongli + Eula + Raiden Shogun + Bennett

As a Physical DPS in Genshin Impact, Eula suffers from a lack of Supports. While there’s an established and well-rounded Support for each Element in the game, there’s only Mika who’s viable as a Physical Support that can help increase her DPS. For that, it’s necessary to bring Zhongli to every Eula team because of his rare Physical debuff when the shield is up. Considering Eula is a melee unit that’s always close to enemies when dealing DMG, Zhongli’s buff will always be active through his shield. Additionally, Eula needs a good Electro enabler in her team like Raiden Shogun to help her trigger Superconduct that will further shredd enemies’ resistance to Physical DMG.

On the other hand, Bennett is a straight buffer where he’ll maximize Eula’s ATK, especially when dealing DMG with her Elemental Burst. Make sure he’s not C6 since he’ll infuse her Physical hits with Pyro. If your Bennett is C6 or don’t want to use him, you can go for Mika as he’s one of her best Supports in Genshin Impact. As for Raiden Shogun, she operates as a battery to make sure Eula keeps casting her Elemental Burst on every rotation, on top of buffing it. A good replacement for Raiden is Kuki Shinobu, especially if you want to use Furina instead of Bennett.

3 Zhongli + Arlecchino + Yelan + Bennett

Arlecchino is a very strong Pyro DPS in Genshin Impact. To maximize her ability to deal DMG, she needs a Hydro unit like Yelan who’ll join her in triggering endless Vaporize reactions. Arlecchino also operates with her Bond of Life mechanics that make her vulnerable in combat since she can’t get healing. At certain times, her HP might get really low and that makes Zhongli very important, since he’ll not only grant her a shield that protects her from falling, but he’ll also debuff enemies around her and increase her DPS.

Finally, adding Bennett to the team further increases the team’s DPS because of his massive ATK buff from his Elemental Burst, in addition to the Pyro Resonance that he triggers alongside Arlecchino, which adds 25% ATK to the entire team.

4 Zhongli + Ganyu + Nahida + Xiangling

Ganyu was and still is one of the strongest Cryo units in Genshin Impact. While many units are comparable to her power nowadays, she’s still good enough to carry her team’s DPS. Ganyu charges her arrow for around two seconds before she launches a devastating attack that deals AoE Cryo DMG. One of her biggest problems is how sensitive it is to make sure she launches that arrow, especially around hordes or big enemies. If she gets hit or interrupted while charging, you’ll have to charge again and lose a lot of time in the process. For that, she needs a strong shielder like Zhongli who raises her resistance to interruption and protects her from all sorts of incoming DMG.

For Ganyu to deal high DMG, she needs to trigger the Melt reaction on each one of her shots. You need to add a capable Pyro unit like Xiangling to the team to keep applying Pyro on enemies around Ganyu. While Xiangling is great for that role, you can set the field better for Ganyu by adding a Dendro unit like Nahida. She triggers the Burning reaction on enemies that keeps the Pyro Element persistent for Ganyu to trigger Melt over and over again.
