Hero Team-Up abilities are some of the main factors that go into figuring out a good team composition, but there’s more to it than that. Different characters have abilities that compliment or synergize with other characters in nearly infinite ways, and with the right team composition, you can have a real advantage over your opponents.

This team composition focuses on healing; whether that’s self-healing, in the case of the Duelists, or making a good pairing of Strategist and Vanguard. Across the board, this combination of heroes should have very good cohesion, able to move around the map in small groups as opposed to all as one.
Venom can be a bit of a problem for Strategists to heal, with his jumping and swinging. Luna Snow can bypass this a bit by placing her Share The Stage ability on him. Then, as long as Luna is healing somebody, Venom will be receiving some healing, too.
For Groot’s part, Rocket can ride around on his shoulder, easily providing healing anywhere he happens to be. Both Wolverine and Iron Fist are capable of healing themselves a certain amount, and can self-sustain more than most other Duelists.

This team composition is going to make it difficult for the enemy team to have any moments of peace. This is all about bringing teammates back from the dead, and that’s accomplished in a ton of different ways.
Adam Warlock, Mantis, and Star-Lord all have a Team-Up ability, allowing them to resurrect themselves once every 105 seconds. Adam Warlock’s ultimate ability also allows revival post-death, with him able to revive any recently-deceased allies in a certain radius.
It doesn’t end there, though. Hela is capable of reviving teammates post-death; specifically in this lineup, Thor. If the God of Thunder falls, Hela can score a kill shortly afterward to bring him back from the dead. If your team does happen to wipe, Doctor Strange can get the team back in the fight quickly with his portals.
Mantis could be replaced by Loki in this lineup, and the idea would still stand; rather than Mantis having her Team-Up ability with Adam Warlock, Loki would share one with Hela.

This team composition makes good use of a combination of melee and ranged characters. Ideally, the melee characters keep in close range, dancing around and taking the brunt of the enemies’ attention, while the Duelists deal extreme damage from range.
Captain America and Thor are two Vanguards who can be the most difficult to deal with; not necessarily because they’re the best at tanking damage, but because they’re the best at forcing you to deal with them. Both of them get right up in your face and make you take the fight, leaving their teammates more opportunities.
Adam Warlock is there to help divide the damage between the Vanguards with Soul Bond to ensure neither is taking the bulk of the punishment, and Rocket is there to enable both The Punisher and Winter Soldier to maximize their potential.

This team composition feels a little bit dirty to write down. All of these characters can make themselves more difficult to hit than their counterparts. Whether by speed, agility, or just really small hitbox, landing meaningful damage against this team is going to be tough.
Venom and Captain America are going to gain the most attention, as Vanguards should. But, they’re some of the most agile Vanguards around, and are going to be very difficult to put down. Rocket and Luna Snow can both provide healing for them, while Rocket in particular can be impossible to get a bead on with his multitude of movement abilities.
Iron Fist and Spider-Man are two of the most difficult Duelists to fight against; not necessarily because they deal spectacular damage (though Spider-Man has been known to do so), but because their movement abilities can render them effectively immortal, when used right. (Especially Iron Fist.)

No team composition is going to be capable of muddying the playing field more than this one. Every single one of these characters is capable of creating objects or NPCs, all of varying effects. This is going to make the battlefield confusing enough for the enemy that they’re going to have a hard time keeping track of your teams’ positions.
Groot and Peni Parker can both create objects, they just both create things that have very different effects. Groot creates his walls that are capable of both offense and defense, while Peni Parker has her Arachno-Mines, Cyber Bonds, and Spider-Sweepers.
Meanwhile, Rocket has his B.R.B., and Loki can create multiple versions of himself that he can switch between at will. Magik can summon a Demon from Limbo, and Namor can call forth creatures from the sea.
