Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Has Nailed The Live-Service Model
Space Marine 2 (and Helldivers 2, while we’re at it) are the PERFECT example of how to approach a game like this in 2024. Sorry, Concord!
Fans everywhere probably rushed to watch the Secret Level Warhammer 40K episode, which is linked to Space Marine 2, and later take on the new Obelisk Operation in the game. However, this link between the two has got fans hoping that Space Marine 2 will soon get the power axe which was shown in the episode.
You Have My Chainsword, And My Bolter, And Hopefully My Axe!
We won’t get into much detail about the Secret Level episode or the new Operation, but at some point in the episode a Space Marine shows off his shill with a giant power axe that slices through enemies like butter. Unsurprisingly, fans of Space Marine 2 want Focus Entertainment to add the axe to the game.
There’s nothing more satisfying to Warhammer 40K fans than watching a squad of Space Marines tear through a group of enemies with ruthless efficiency. It gets even better when one of them is wielding an axe, which resulted in Redditor ||Stormbringer|| asking the devs, “Where is my AXE, Focus?”
The comments section was in total agreement, going gaga over the idea of a power axe coming to the game. There was some debate about what kind of axe it was, everybody agreed it was pretty awesome. “What makes the axe in the episode cooler is its technically not even a power axe. It’s pretty much a regular axe but he was still cutting through mfers like it was butter with it,” said one comment.”
“I kinda like the idea that it is some relic power axe but he just never needs to activate it during the fights he participates in,” said another comment.
The episode even made some players regret maining one class: “Power axe, lighting claw, hell, even the two-handed eviscerator used by Gabriel Seth, look at just how many primary weapon options Tactical has, and then look at us Assault. Sigh in starvation.”
Unfortunately, while a lot of armour customisation options came with the new update, there were no new weapons added. The last new weapon we got was the Neo-Volkite Pistol, which wasn’t very impressive to players.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 again sees you battling for the Emperor, against armies of Tyranid aliens. You must fight to ensure the Imperium’s survival in the face of extinction.
