Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remake puts some of the hardest puzzles in its first title, making the second a much more action-focused affair. A lot of players will burn through Soul Reaver 2’s puzzles with little to no effort compared to the first game.
After defeating Melchia, players will make their way to the Silenced Cathedral. The Silenced Citadel features plenty of puzzles, with one of its first being the painted walls puzzle. This will transition into the next part of the level, where players will need to solve 4 puzzles to open some switches in order to reach the boss room.

Silenced Citadel Stone Pipe Puzzle Solution in Soul Reaver
The only fast travel option for this area is outside the main building, so this is something players should aim to do in one sitting. Otherwise, they will find themselves needing to retrace a lot of their steps throughout this area. Players will encounter a large glass wall with a wooden door. Head through this door and follow the wall on the left, taking the first door they come to.
There will be some humans with knives in this area. Just run past them, as they are not your enemies. There will be a large gate shortly after passing the humans. Phase to the Spectral Realm and pass through the gate to find a room of stone blocks with holes through them. These holes will act like pipes for a gust of wind that can push you to the higher parts of the level so that you can face off and defeat Zephon.
Slay the sluagh that are lurking in the puzzle room if you need to top up your Stamina, and then use the glowing point to phase back to the Material Plane. There will now be some of Zephon’s spawn in the area. Slay them and then hop back up to the platform that you shifted from to safely absorb their souls to finish them off for good. These enemies will keep spawning over time, so you may need to repeat this step while you solve the puzzle.
Now, push the pillar of blocks next to the platform where you shifted. You can now use this platform to push the stack 1 block at a time. This will cause all the blocks to be on the ground and not one another. You will see different blocks have different holes through them. You will need to match these holes with the indents in the walls. An easy way to solve this puzzle is to go up to an indent, see which holes you need, then find a matching block. The block you need may need to be flipped in order to be accepted.
You will hear a clicking sound when the right block goes into the correct indent. Once players solve this puzzle, a cutscene will come up that shows 4 switches encased in glass. One of which will shatter to expose the switch. This completes the first part of this multiconnected puzzle. Players will have encountered a similar puzzle in the Necropolis, except this one spaces the rooms out between this area.

Second Stone Pipe Puzzle Solution in Soul Reaver
Backtrack to the door you used to enter the first puzzle and then travel west. Watch along the left wall, and you will pass a large bell. Keep going west, and you will find another door on the left wall. This puzzle focuses on the exact same principles as the first one, but there are a lot more blocks to push this time around.
The higher number of blocks, which are also scattered across the ground, might be a little confusing for some players. Getting through this puzzle might take more time, and that means players may have to deal with a larger number of enemies respawning. So a video has been included for players to see which blocks go where — and prevent them from becoming frustrated.
Players can use these blocks as another means of getting to higher ground to absorb souls to not be overwhelmed.
Silenced Citadel Crank and Stone Puzzle Solution in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Completing the previous puzzle will prompt another cutscene. Head back to the bell you passed and strike to make it let out a deep chime. Head back to the glass wall and go through the wooden door. On the left will be a gap in the wall with a fire burning on either side. Head down this pathway and ring the bell at the end for the combined chiming to cause a glass wall to shatter. You will also find a large stone with a creature engraved on it.
Head back to the door of the second puzzle, but do not go through it. On the north wall will be a crank. Use this crank and then immediately shift to the Spectral Realm. Head back to the engraved stone near the second bell, and the crank will have moved it. If you do not shift the Spectral Realm, the stone will move back, and you will need to start over.

Vents Puzzle Solution in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Head down the path behind the engraved stone to discover the 2 mechanisms you freed from glass enclosures by completing the previous 2 puzzles. There is another puzzle along the way, but this is an optional puzzle and will not grant access to either of the remaining mechanisms. However, solving this optional puzzle will grant players an Artifact to increase their maximum health.
Opposite these switches will be a gate you can phase through while in the Spectral Realm. Follow the left pathway, and you will come to a room with 3 vents. Open the middle vent and the right vent to break the third switch’s glass cover. Head back to the gate and follow the other route to another set of vents. Just like before, open the middle and far right vent. This will allow you to interact with all 4 switches to create an updraft.
Use this updraft to make your way to the final part of the area and to the Zephon boss fight. Players should pick up the Sound Glyph before they leave the area. There are many different Glyphs in the game, and they will be powerful tools in players’ arsenals for future parts of the game.
