Rumored Fortnite Feature Could Save Players Money in the Game

Rumored Fortnite Feature Could Save Players Money in the Game

Summary

  • A rumored Fortnite feature may allow players to buy the exact amount of V-Bucks needed for cosmetics, not just preset packs.
  • Players could save money by purchasing only the amount of V-Bucks required for cosmetics.
  • Purchasing V-Buck packs in Fortnite would still offer discounts, with greater discounts for larger packs.

Epic Games seems to be testing a way for players to only have to add the necessary amount of V-Bucks to their Fortnite account when buying cosmetics rather than a preset amount. Like most free-to-play games, Fortnite has an in-game currency, which gamers can earn or purchase. It is possible to earn 200 V-Bucks per season simply by leveling up the Battle Pass, but since it takes about three months for a new season to start, this would be an inefficient way to acquire in-game currency, which is why many fans buy V-Bucks.

Players can either buy V-Bucks through their preferred platform’s online store, the Fortnite Item Shop, or at local retailers via V-Bucks cards, which can then be redeemed in-game. Regardless of the player’s choice when it comes to buying Fortnite‘s currency, V-Bucks Packs include a set number of V-Bucks. Gamers have the following options when it comes to V-Bucks Packs in Fortnite: 1,000 V-Bucks ($8.99), 2,800 V-Bucks ($22.99), 5,000 V-Bucks ($36.99), and 13,500 V-Bucks ($89.99).

Occasionally, there are also limited-time offers in Fortnite, such as Quest Packs and Starter Packs, which grant other deals, such as 600 V-Bucks for $4.49. Nevertheless, if players wanted to buy an item in the in-game shop but were only 50 V-Bucks short, they’d most likely have to purchase 1,000 V-Bucks, which is a lot more than what they would need in this case. It seems a solution to this problem could be on the way, as leakers have recently reported that Epic Games appears to be working on a “Reload V-Bucks” system that allows players to only add the amount of currency they need for items in the shop.

What Is the Reload V-Bucks Feature

  • A rumored upcoming Fortnite feature that would allow players to purchase the required V-Bucks (rounded up to the next hundred) for a cosmetic rather than a V-Bucks Pack

According to these rumors, if the player was only 50 V-Bucks from being able to buy a desired cosmetic in the Fortnite Item Shop, they would be able to purchase 100 V-Bucks for $0.89 or so rather than having to spend ten times as much. In this deal, everybody wins. Consumers only need to spend a portion of the money, and Epic Games will probably get more purchases because it is easier to spend a few cents compared to $10 or more.

If this becomes a reality, there will still be benefits for players who opt to buy V-Bucks Packs in Fortnite. Gamers who purchase the 2,800 V-Bucks Pack save 12 percent compared to those who purchase the 1,000 V-Bucks Pack. The higher the number of V-Bucks in the pack, the better the discount.
