Ranking Every Skin In Marvel Rivals

Ranking Every Skin In Marvel Rivals

Key Takeaways

  • Marvel Rivals’ stylized look with exaggerated proportions and cartoon aesthetic makes it feel like an animated comic.
  • The game offers a variety of unique skins, referencing comics and even other video games, allowing players to kill enemies with style.
  • Favorite skin picks include Storm’s Mohawk Rock, Cloak and Dagger’s Growth & Decay, and Wolverine’s Deadpool-inspired classic suit.

There are many great things about Marvel Rivals, from roster to gameplay. Still, we’re here to talk about a specific part of the game, which is its looks. The game has a very stylized look to it, with exaggerated proportions on characters and all, and mixing that with its cartoon aesthetic, the game feels like an animated comic.

The game’s style culminates in its multiple skins, referencing comics and even other video games. While some are simple re-colors, there are many amazing picks here, so you can kill your enemies (or friends who happen to be on the opposite team) with style.

Updated on December 9, 2024, by Lucas Olah: We’re done with the beta testing and whatnot because Marvel Rivals is finally out there for all to enjoy. Its roster also grew, and while each character has only two to four skins each, that still gives us more than 70 skins. That said, writing about all of them would be too long, and we wouldn’t judge you if you got bored reading that many entries. Thus, we decided to talk about our favorite skins in the game rather than all of them.

10

Mohawk Rock

Storm

Storm wearing the Mohawk Rock skin in Marvel Rivals.

Storm has a very elegant skin for her default and a nice white version of it, too. Still, the goddess has a beautiful alternate look featuring her rock style, with spikes everywhere, a tattoo, and, of course, the mohawk.

Ororo is featured with a mohawk on occasion, so it’s nice to have this option here as well, so you can choose the version you like the most from her. Storm may not have a lot of skins yet, but they’re all solid choices.

9

Growth & Decay

Cloak & Dagger

Cloak & Dagger wearing the Growth & Decay skin in Marvel Rivals.

If you want to add some medieval fantasy to your Marvel Rivals just for the fun of it, some skins fit that criteria. But the one we’ll focus on is from Cloak & Dagger, where they get looks that resemble an elf and a dark elf.

Due to being a pair of characters combined, they have the opportunity to get some beautifully unique skins in the future, and this skin is just one example of how fantastical they can look together.

8

Deadpool And Wolverine

Wolverine

Wolverine wearing the Deadpool & Wolverine skin in Marvel Rivals.

Now, this one feels a bit like cheating, but it looks awesome. Logan has a very distinct look for his default skin, and though he looks good, the classic suit is a sight to behold. This skin is based on the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, but it’s still fantastic.

The game actually has a lot of skins based on the movies, even though their realistic take on the characters is usually a weird clash with the exaggerated aesthetic here. Not for the Wolverine, though; it’s a perfect fit.

7

Mister Knight

Moon Knight

Sometimes, you need to look more presentable when meeting people – even if your end goal is still to beat them up. Moon Knight is very aware of that, which is why we have Mister Knight, who made his way here as a skin.

In true assassin fashion, you can hunt people down and kill them while wearing formal attire, ensuring all sorts of fancy kills as you play. The cape stays, though; you need it to glide.

6

Incognito Dolphin

Jeff The Land Shark

Jeff wearing the Incognito Dolphin skin in Marvel Rivals.

Yes, we picked this skin because he looks adorable, and we have zero regrets. If you don’t want people to find out that you’re actually a shark, you can disguise yourself with this cute dolphin outfit. Every hero needs a secret identity, after all.

Along with the outfit, Jeff has plenty of items attached to it, like keychains, which add a nice extra look to the skin without exaggerating its style. How can people be mad at you for swallowing them and spitting them out of the map when you look this cute?

5

Green Scar

Bruce Banner

Similar to Cloak & Dagger, Hulk’s skins also have a special, unique component to them because they need to vary between Hulk, Baby Hulk (aka Banner), and Hulk during his ultimate. So let’s take a trip to Sakaar.

There, Hulk gets his famous gladiator armor, and Rivals adapts that look, taking all three forms into consideration during the process. Thus, we have an excellent three-for-one skin, and we get to see Gladiator Banner, which is fun.

4

God Of Magic

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange wearing the God of Magic skin in Marvel Rivals.

Stephen Strange is rocking many good skins in the game already, including his default skin. Still, if you want your tank to look divine as he shields the team or makes portals to make enemies run off the map by accident, this skin is for you.

God of Magic gives Strange a beautiful white cloak to match his divine appearance here, along with a new hairstyle that also features the white and gold from the outfit. Plus, he’s got a full beard now.

3

Empress Of The Cosmos

Hela

Hela wearing the Empress of the Cosmos skin in Marvel Rivals.

Though this skin doesn’t look like something Hela would normally wear, it still gets a pass because of how stunning she looks in it. Rather than the evil look she normally has, this skin gives her a mix of a royal and eldritch aesthetic.

With the white robes and golden accessories, combined with what looks like extra eyes and an unnatural skin color, it’s hard not to stare in awe. The fact she’ll try to kill helps not to stare, though.

2

Punisher 2099

The Punisher

The Punisher wearing the Punisher 2099 skin in Marvel Rivals.

Frank Castle may be one of the easiest heroes to play in the game, but his outfits go pretty hard. If you’re killing everyone left and right as the Punisher, you might as well look even more terrifying while you’re at it.

This skin adds a lot more metal to the outfit, makes the skull in the chest more prominent and shiny, and gives Frank a mask to match his intimidating aesthetic. It does make your head glow a little, so it might make it easier for people to headshot you.

1

Galactic Claw

Black Panther

Black Panther wearing the Galactic Claw skin in Marvel Rivals.

Swapping the traditional black for blue (though black is still a main color here) and adding a little bit of cosmic and royalty to the aesthetic, we have the Galactic Claw skin for our King T’Challa. He looks powerful in every way, from his position within Wakanda to his raw power to fight his enemies.

This skin is the perfect example of fitting the character lore-wise (Wakanda is in space here) while also looking fantastic, even without knowing the game’s context for it. It’s just an excellent work of art.
