PUBG Mobile is always known for its frequent innovative in-game additions. This is one of the elements which keeps the players engaged. Recently, at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024 London, the devs announced several new features coming to the game very soon as part of PUBG Mobile’s 7th anniversary celebrations. One of the main attractions of that announcement was the exclusive preview of the new Battle Royale map in PUBG Mobile: RONDO. It is a brand new 8 km x 8 km map set to come in March 2025.
How the new RONDO map has caught the eyes of everyone
During the PMGC 2024 LAN event in London, the attending fans were treated to an exclusive preview of the vibrant RONDO map, set to debut in March 2025. This map is a combination of modern architecture and traditional Asian elegance. Previously in maps Sanhok and Vikendi where we got to experience fast-paced stealth gameplay in the greenery and chilled long-range battles in the icy terrains respectively.
This new battlefield will bring a fresh and new essence that has been missing for a long time. This map is a mixture of cityscapes and old-fashioned architecture where we can jump and play according to our gameplay requirements. We can climb up the tallest building of the RONDO and keep surveillance on the entire city or go to the Japanese temples to have a calm and composed start. As per sources, this new map will have several distinct features which will make it different from other maps.
The new 8×8 RONDO map brings a variety of new features to PUBG Mobile
This new 8×8 map will give you the experience of the sandy terrains of Miramar and the urban greenery of Erangel at the same time. This new map has some special features. Here are those:
1. Double Plane path
For the first time in PUBG Mobile history, we might get to see instances where we will get more than one airplane to travel in. These two aircraft will travel towards different locations of RONDO and we can jump as per our likings. However, we will have to select one single airplane before leaving the spawn island.
2. New weapon: JS9
This new Submachine gun is the exclusive weapon of the RONDO map in PUBG Mobile. This compact SMG will play crucial in the early game quarter combats in both the cityscapes and the suburban areas of the map.
3. Stun Gun
This new non-lethal weapon is also a RONDO exclusive. We can use this item to temporarily immobilize an enemy using its high-voltage electric shocks. This stun gun will surely be a game changer in the narrow areas of the buildings of RONDO.
PUBG Mobile’s 7th Anniversary celebrations kick off in March 2025
Apart from these, we will also have new and exciting features such as Electromagnetic Pulse devices (EMP). This piece of technology can be used to jam and turn off electronics such as gun sights, laser grips, car engines, etc. It will be a very useful tactical gadget in the game.
This announcement also teased us about the 7th Anniversary update of PUBG Mobile. This time, we will get a special theme based on the hourglass. In this update, we will get back previous beloved features like the floating islands and other stuff. The Mylta Power of Erangel will also get a nostalgic golden sand makeover which will make it look like the Mylta Power of the old Erangel map.
Announcements regarding Metro Royale Chapter 24 were also made. The new chapter is launching in January 2025 with new gameplay mechanics. The World of Wonder (WOW) will also have new enhanced rewards and opportunities for its creators.
Even though the PMGC announcement was short but surely created a lot of hype and excitement among us. The teaser of the new map and the 7th Anniversary update seems very promising it is already attracting many players. These consistent additions of new items and features are crucial for long-term growth and play an important role in terms of player engagement.
