Pokemon TV Appears To Be Adding Full Anime Episodes In Release Order

Pokemon TV Appears To Be Adding Full Anime Episodes In Release Order

Key Takeaways

  • Pokemon relaunched Pokemon TV as a YouTube channel last week, promising to add full episodes of the anime.
  • Less than a week later, the first 25 episodes from season one are already available.
  • The episodes have been added in release order with at least nine more seemingly primed and ready to go.

Pokemon made the surprising, but very welcome, decision to revive Pokemon TV last week, just in a slightly different form. What used to be an app is now a YouTube channel with full episodes of the Pokemon anime promised. That promise was fulfilled immediately and less than a week later, there are already 25 episodes from the anime’s first season available to watch on Pokemon TV.

Pokemon TV kicked off its YouTube era last Friday by adding the first nine episodes of season one, perfect for those who want to go back to the very beginning of Ash and Pikachu’s journey and binge their OG outings. If you burned through those episodes right away, five more were added 24 hours later. Six more joined them the day after that, and then another five to kick off the week bringing the grand total up to 25 episodes added to the channel so far.

Where To Watch Every Season Of The Pokemon Anime

What streaming service you need to watch every season and spinoff of the Pokemon anime, because it’s really not as simple as you think.

Since there are more than 1,200 episodes of the Pokemon anime, and counting, 25 might sound a little bit like a drop in the ocean, and I guess it kind of is when framed a certain way. However, with each of those episodes running for almost 22 and a half minutes each, that’s already more than nine hours of the Pokemon anime ready and waiting for everyone and anyone. Free to watch, all you need is a device with access to YouTube.

Even though there are still a lot more episodes of season one to go, Pokemon appears to have stopped short of adding fresh content every single day. There are clearly plans to add more episodes soon though as if you watch the first 25 episodes via the channel’s playlist, a note reads that it actually includes 34 videos. However, if you scroll to the bottom of the playlist, there’s a second note to let you know, for now at least, nine of those videos are hidden.

With 27 seasons of the Pokemon anime spanning almost three decades, watching the show from start to finish is a logistical nightmare. Even before the Pokemon TV app was shut down, some of its seasons were missing and right now, they’re spread awkwardly across various streaming platforms. It seems unlikely, but if Pokemon continues to add episodes in release order, we can keep hoping that eventually, every single episode will be available to watch on the Pokemon TV YouTube channel.
