Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Tells Another Unfortunate 2024 Game Awards Story
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s release timing puts it at a disadvantage at 2025’s Game Awards, callling for a change in date for the ceremony.
Now, speaking with Variety, Lucasfilm Games vice president and general manager Douglas Reilly has shed some light on the game and what the future could hold for the franchise. Reilly says that for the moment, the development team is solely focused on the Indiana Jones and The Great Circle‘s DLC and “making it as successful as we can.” However, he did point out that they’re always looking for great stories, and that “there’s a lot of space between the films where we could tell more and more Indiana Jones stories.” While there’s no solid yes or no, it seems as though if The Great Circle finds fiscal success, there could be future partnerships with MachineGames to bring more Indy titles to life.
Will Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Find Success?
With Indiana Jones and The Great Circle being available on Xbox Game Pass, it’s more difficult to speculate on the sales success of the title thus far. However, on Steam, the game has seen a peak of over 12,000 players as of this writing. The number could be significantly higher on Xbox due to Game Pass, but also because of high system requirements for PC. Nvidia RTX or equivalent GPUs are necessary to play the game on PC, with anywhere from an Nvidia RTX 2060 to an RTX 4090 being recommended, depending upon the settings a user wants.
For now, it remains to be seen what the future will hold for this new branch of the Indiana Jones franchise. With Bethesda, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle‘s publisher, now under the umbrella of Microsoft, there’s a lot riding on this game for the company. Indiana Jones and The Great Circle could help to generate more interest in Xbox Game Pass and potentially even help to sell more Xbox consoles if it’s a success.
