How To Get Giant Crystal Items

At the end of the Nullify The Corruption quest in Brighter Shores Episode Two, you’ll need to gather four magical items to heal the Giant Crystal and clear the dark magic from the forest. Without these items, the corrupted magic will keep turning wild creatures and recruits into enemies, like the Mutant Stag and Jermais (your fellow recruit).

However, finding these things isn’t straightforward. Dryad’s riddles will guide you to unexplored areas where you’ll face challenging bosses. Be ready to put in some grinding, especially in the Scout and Woodcutter professions, to make it easier. This guide will show you how to find all the Giant Crystal items in Brighter Shores.

How To Get All Giant Crystal Items In Brighter Shores

While Dryad shows you the first magic source, Glowing Beetles, in the Overgrown Trail near the Crystal Clearing, the other three are scattered across Hopeforest, and you’ll have to track them down yourself. Here’s what you’ll need:

Tangled Briar Location In Brighter Shores

The clue for the second magic source is it’s beyond Tangled Briar. At this point in the game, you haven’t unlocked this area yet. Thankfully, it’s not too far from Crystal Clearing. Simply return to the Overgrown Trail and turn south onto Bramble Path, which is blocked by large Hardy Brambles that you’ll need to clear by chopping them down.

Remember, players need to be at Woodcutter level eight and have a hatchet to complete this step. If you’re not there yet, you’ll need to chop down lower-level trees around Hopeforest to raise your rank in the profession. You can also buy the Hatchet for 43 Silver Coins and 200 Bronze Coins from Morauce’s Pointy Implements, located in Timberwell Green.

After you remove the brambles, turn south and you’ll find yourself in Mushroom Grove. That’s where you’ll discover the Glowing Mushroom. Just click on it and tap ‘Pick’ to add it to your main quest board.

Where To Find The Multiple-Headed Creature In Brighter Shores

The Multi Headed Creature is actually the Giant Two Headed Bear found in the Two Headed Bear Clearing In Brighter Shores. It’s guarding the Glowing Bee Hive, which has the Glowing Honey, the third Giant Crystal item. To locate it, start at the Stump Clearing (north of the Hopeforest Central Portal Stone—you can use the teleport for quicker access). From there, turn left to reach the Tangled Path, and keep going west, passing through Tangled Lane, Leafy Junction, and Bear Clearing. And turn north to reach the Two Headed Bear Clearing.

Once there, you’ll counter the Giant Two Headed Bear; it’s a level 20 boss and can be really challenging to beat. Here are some tips to kill the Giant Two Headed Bear In Brighter Shores:

• Level up your Scout to 18–20 (to be on the safe side).
• Attack while the bear charges for a ground slam.
• Use weapons with Cryonae, Tempestae, or Necromae elements. Infernae weapons won’t work since the bear is immune to fire.
• Quickly move out of the orange-tiled attack zone to avoid damage.
• Use the 20% Healing Potions during combat (avoid consuming them mid-way or right after the ground slam).
• Repeat this strategy until it’s defeated.

After taking down the bear, interact with the Glowing Bee Hive and hit ‘Take Honey From’ to collect the Glowing Honey. Just a heads-up, you’ll need a Jar to extract the honey. You can buy one for 20 Bronze Coins at The Forager’s Warehouse in Hopeport.

How To Get Beyond The River In Brighter Shores

The last Giant Crystal Item, the Glowing Fern, can be found in the Ferry South Shore in Brighter Shores. Start from Timberwell Green, go right to Mine Road West, then head south to Tree Lined Trail, Tree Lined Track, and finally Hopeforest Ferry. There, you’ll meet the Ferryman, who will ask you to repair the boat before you can use it to cross the river.

To fix the ferry, you’ll need two Ash Planks. Simply cut down Ash Trees in Timberwell Green and process them using the Circular Saw at the Carpenter’s Workshop to collect them. Once you have the planks, return to the Ferryman at Hopeforest Ferry and repair the broken boat by tapping on it and selecting ‘Fix.’ Next, a cutscene will play, showing a massive Mutant Newt (a monster with 615 health) jumping onto the ferry and damaging it while you and the Ferryman are on the journey to cross the river. While it’s a high-level foe, you can beat it by playing smartly.

To defeat the Mutant Newt, avoid standing in the orange-tiled areas on the ferry and attack it with any available weapon. Depending on your weapon’s rarity, the fight may take some time. When the monster goes back to the river, quickly repair the areas of the ferry it damaged by clicking on them and selecting ‘Fix.’ Once the Newt is killed, you’ll reach the Ferry South Shore, where you can find the Glowing Fern. Just click on it and select ‘Pick’ to harvest it.

Once players have all the Giant Crystal Items, they can complete the Main Story Quest, Nullify The Corruption, by healing the Giant Crystal in the Hopeforest.
