A better park will attract more guests, which puts your ability to manage large crowds to the test. With so many guests, it’s sometimes inevitable that some may get stuck or trapped, which can be quite frustrating. In this guide, we’ve covered what you can do in such situations.
How To Fix Stuck Guest Problems
Stuck guests are an issue you’re bound to encounter, especially if you have a crowded park. This problem typically occurs when guests find themselves off the designated paths. It can also happen if you’re editing paths and guests are left stranded due to disconnected paths.
Poorly designed paths that are too narrow or excessively steep often cause guests to get stuck. To prevent this, ensure your pathways are wide enough. While you can’t make every path wide, prioritizing the busiest areas of your park can significantly reduce the chances of guests getting stuck.
The Edit Tool is a great way to widen existing paths, giving guests more room to move around comfortably.
On the other hand, placing large objects on already crowded paths isn’t a good idea. If you can’t widen a path, filling it with counters or other facilities will make it even narrower. Plan your facility placements wisely to avoid this issue.
If the waiting lines in your queues become too long, guests might start waiting on the main paths. This can create congestion in those areas. To avoid this, ensure that your rides have sufficiently long queue paths.
If your queue paths are too long and this results in complaints from guests, you can set your rides to Full Load. This will help reduce the queues and make them move faster.
You don’t need to make your park a maze, but you can use the Stamp Builder tool to create larger open spaces rather than relying solely on narrow pathways. This can help manage foot traffic and avoid congestion.
Avoid placing too many food or drink shops on narrow, busy paths. Instead, guide guests to wider areas where they can fulfill these needs without crowding smaller pathways.
Additionally, don’t connect ride entrances and exits to the same path. If guests are entering and exiting onto the same path, it creates unnecessary congestion. Direct exits to separate paths to improve flow.
If you receive a notification about a trapped guest, use the menu on the left to locate the guest. Click on them and move them to a safe location using the menu on the right. If this happens only occasionally, it’s not a major issue.
However, frequent occurrences indicate you need to reevaluate the design of your paths, entrances, and exits. Opt for wider, simpler paths to prevent guests from becoming trapped.
One of the most common reasons for trapped guests is incomplete pathways. When you notice trapped guests, pause the game and carefully inspect the path they were trying to take. Fix any incomplete paths to resolve the issue.
If you receive warnings that guests are stuck in your park and can’t find the entrance, and nothing seems to resolve the problem, consider adding alternative entrances. Open the ‘Facilities’ menu and select ‘Entrances’. Place an entrance near the guests who are stuck. This can be a temporary fix while you address the pathing issues or a permanent solution for large parks.
Even if you’re not dealing with stuck guests, having multiple entrances in a large park can be beneficial.
