While Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption usually headline Rockstar’s iconic catalog, you shouldn’t forget about the excellent game L.A. Noire. This 2011 title hasn’t received word of a sequel yet, but the detective experience lives on with the L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files game, which is now available at a huge discount, alongside other VR titles, thanks to a new sale.
Of course, you’ll need one of the best VR headsets to take advantage of this excellent sale. However, if you do have a VR setup, you can quickly fill your backlog with some of the best VR games during Humble’s ongoing VR sale – with the underrated L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files as the star attraction.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files gives you similar vibes to the flatscreen experience, as you attempt to solve the mystery behind brutal crimes, conspiracies, and plots as Detective Cole Phelps. The immersion from VR allows you to get deeply involved in each case, set in the backdrop of Los Angeles in 1947.
Admittedly, some PC players are reporting issues with launching the game on Steam, but that will hopefully get fixed soon. As someone who absolutely adores playing VR experiences, whether they’re major triple-A games or indie titles, I’ve also picked out some other stellar games you should give a try.
Other recommendations include the Arizona Sunshine duology, including the remake of the first game, which offers some of the best zombie game action in recent memory. Or, enjoy a Stalker 2-like experience with both of the Into the Radius games, both of which give you an immersive action-survival experience in an eerie, hostile environment. Alternatively, you can become a giant octopus in Tentacular – it’s your call.
