Key Takeaways
- Sony Bend, the developer behind Days Gone, has been working on its next project for some time now.
- It hasn’t been officially revealed just yet, but a UI designer’s portfolio seemingly contains screenshots and concepts from the project.
- Those images suggest a third-person military shooter with crafting, levelling up, and other multiplayer functions.
A former Sony Bend UI designer’s portfolio has been discovered online, and it seems to feature in-development screenshots of the studio’s next game.
For a while now, we’ve known that the developers over at Bend Studio, who is responsible for Days Gone, Syphon Filter, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, is working on a new game. That mysterious new IP isn’t Days Gone 2 like so many fans hoped it would be (for some reason), but that leaves an even bigger question – what has Sony Bend been working on since 2019?

We Need To Get Over Days Gone 2
There has been yet more talk of a Days Gone sequel this week, and we all need to let it go.
Up until now, the only thing we’ve known about Bend’s next game is that it’s a new IP that “includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone”, which doesn’t tell us all that much. Well, it looks like we don’t have to wait much longer for some more clues, as in-development screenshots have been found in the portfolio of a UI designer who recently worked for the studio.
Sony Bend’s New IP Looks Like A Military-Focused Third-Person Shooter With Crafting
Earlier today, MP1st reported that they’d found a UI designer’s portfolio who worked at Sony Bend from 2022 until March of this year. Their resume suggests they worked on the unannounced project, while their portfolio even seems to contain screenshots of the studio’s new IP, albiet in an early development state.
Although most of the screenshots are just images of menus, do they give us a good idea of what might be included in the game, such as crafting (yay), levelling-up, a whole host of guns, and something called “nanites”. One image shows a character model, confirming a third-person perspective, standing in what appears to be a base, which has a wardrobe option and a transfer station.
MP1st theorised that the screenshots could come from 2022 or 2023, as there was a video included in the list from a Google Drive file.
So far, it’s not really enough to know exactly what Sony Bend is working on, but it does suggest that it’s a third-person military shooter of some kind that appears to have multiplayer elements. It was previously rumoured that Bend’s title would have live-service elements like Helldivers 2, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see it crop up in a multiplayer-focused game.
