    trophy.

Cyberpunk 2077 has added a secret Balatro-themed quest to the game in Patch 2.2. Cyberpunk 2077 has been continuously receiving updates and fixes since its release back on December 10, 2020. In four years, the game has added a new DLC expansion, several major content updates, crossovers with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, and more.

Cyberpunk 2077 released its 2.2 Update on December 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. With it came several new vehicle customization options, including one for the CrystalCoat that debuted in Cyberpunk’s 2.11 patch. The update also allows players to customize the paint for several more vehicles, while the previous update only allowed this change on Rayfield vehicles. Another feature that dropped was the Kiroshi TwinTone feature, allowing players to scan any vehicle in Night City to unlock its paint job for their owned variants of the same one for a small fee. All TwinTone and CrystalCoat-compatible vehicles have a spray can icon on them denoting this customization option on the Autofixer website.

Cyberpunk 2077 hits its lowest-ever price across multiple storefronts, with discounts available on both the base game and the Ultimate Edition.

Along with these previously mentioned features, a secret quest has been discovered that was added to the game with the new patch. Radek Grabowski, the global PR director for CD Projekt Red, talked about the origin of this crossover in a quote tweet on Twitter. “Some time ago, I asked the Quest Design team at CDPR: You liked the Cyberpunk cards in Balatro? What if we had Balatro cards in Cyberpunk 2077? Thanks to the talented Quest Designer Maria Mazur, we now have the Balatro quest in Update 2.2.” Grabowski then congratulated Mazur on her incredible work.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.2 Adds a Balatro Side Quest with Cosmetic Rewards

Finding and finishing the quest rewards the user with the Joker of Night City package, which includes a Joker shirt and Balatro trophy to be displayed in the player’s apartment. This new quest isn’t the only hidden quest in the game, as there are a wide variety of secrets to be discovered in Cyberpunk 2077, some of which haven’t been found to this day.

Side quests have also been added to the game routinely in each update. When the game launched, there were already 75 different side quests for players to undertake in Cyberpunk 2077. The Phantom Liberty DLC expansion added at least 21 new side quests, adding to an ever-growing list of content found in the triple-A game.

Cyberpunk has become a major IP for CD Projekt Red, with another anime series inspired by Cyberpunk on the way. The previous anime, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, was released on Netflix to critical acclaim and told the story of a young Edgerunner, Cyberpunk’s take on rebellious citizens seeking to get things done from outside the law. Cyberpunk has come a long way from its humble tabletop RPG origins, and CD Projekt Red doesn’t seem to be finished with it just yet.
