Microsoft have been in no rush to introduce older Call of Duty titles to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, but recent updates suggest that three classic CoD games could be heading to the subscription service soon.
The tech giant completed the Activision Blizzard acquisition back in October 2023 after undergoing several reviews by anti-trust bodies. Since the deal’s completion, Microsoft have been drip-feeding classic Activision titles into Game Pass but there has been no news of retro Call of Duty entering the service until now.

Word of their possible addition to the Game Pass library spread after XboxEra spotted brand new store listings for Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. All three titles popped up on the Microsoft Store for PC and are currently retailing for $19.99.
For those wondering how this is relevant to Game Pass, Activision classics, such as Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, received similar listings prior to their addition to the service.

The new listings are a strong hint that Microsoft could be adding a trio of Call of Duty titles to their service soon. However, this is far from confirmed. As pointed out by XboxEra, Tony Hawk 1&2 Remaster and Singularity were both added to the Microsoft Store but both titles are yet to join the GP catalog. With this in mind, it’s best to temper expectations and wait for an official announcement.
Microsoft are yet to reveal the second batch of Game Pass titles for December 2024 so the announcement may be right around the corner. There’s also the slim possibility of the announcement occurring during The Game Awards 2024 ceremony but this is purely speculation.

While the offline campaigns for all three titles will definitely be a part of the Game Pass release, it’s unclear if Modern Warfare’s multiplayer will be made available as well. The Xbox 360 smash hit is still adored by fans and its MP mode is likely to attract thousands of players looking for a hit of nostalgia.
With both Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare 3 available through Game Pass, fans of the franchise have plenty to keep themselves occupied with until the classics are added to the service.
