Best Weapons for Zhongli – Genshin Impact

As one of the best characters in Genshin Impact, it’s no surprise that Zhongli exists on top of every tier list. Zhongli is one of the best shielders in the game, where he easily provides unbreakable protection with 100% uptime. With Zhongli in the team, players can practically forget the need to dodge as long as they remember to refresh his shield.

Although Vortex Vanquisher was made to be featured alongside the Geo Archon, it’s not Zhongli’s best weapons in Genshin Impact. Instead, players can consider the following Polearms.

For that, many characters rise and fall in power because of the game’s constant Meta change. Zhongli suffered before from the lack of HP% Polearm as only Black Tassel was available to improve his shield. Now, there are new options for a better shield for Zhongli and a better performance overall. Here’s an updated list of the best weapons for Zhongli in Genshin Impact.

7 The Catch

• Primary Stat: 510 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 45.9% Energy Recharge
• R5 Passive: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 32% and Elemental Burst CRIT Rate by 12%.

“ The Catch” can be obtained by exchanging some fish to the Inazuma Fishing Association in Genshin Impact. This weapon is amazing for any sub-DPS that relies on their Elemental Burst as it enhances Burst DMG and helps Energy restoration through its Energy Recharge sub-stat. For Zhongli, The Catch helps magnify his meteor damage and allows him to cast it more often, making it easy for players to petrify enemies on the battlefield frequently.

6 Skyward Spine

• Primary Stat: 674 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 36.8% Energy Recharge
• Passive: Increases CRIT Rate by 8% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vacuum blade that deals 40% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.

Similar to other Energy Recharge weapons, Skyward Spine is also great for Zhongli as it eases his Energy restoration process. However, as a 5-star Genshin Impact weapon, Skyward Spine has a larger Base ATK, which means Zhongli will deal larger damage. Other than that, though, Skyward Spine offers nothing more to the Geo Archon as the rest of its passive is catered to support a main DPS.

5 Rightful Reward

• Primary Stat: 565 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 27.6% HP
• R5 Passive: When the wielder is healed, restore 16 Energy. This effect can triggered once every 10s, and can occur even when the character is not on the field.

It’s not ideal to pair Zhongli with a healer, since he can carry the team’s sustainability with his unbreakable shield. However, sometimes players will pair Zhongli with characters like Furina in Genshin Impact, who has some healing capabilities. Getting a certain amount of Energy every rotation helps Zhongli cast his Elemental Burst more often, which helps the team’s CC.

On the other hand, Rightful Reward’s passive is not that good for Zhongli when it comes to content like the Spiral Abyss. In these types of game modes, players want their character to do their job and rotate as fast as possible, and having Zhongli send down a meteor is the last thing players want for a fast rotation. For that, Rightful Reward is only beneficial for Zhongli because of its 27% HP Sub-stat, but worth the investment since it’s an F2P Fontaine forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact.

4 Dialogues of the Desert Sages

• Primary Stat: 510 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 41.3% HP
• R5 Passive: When the wielder performs healing, restore 16 Energy. This effect can be triggered once every 10s and can occur even when the character is not on the field.

Passive-wise, Dialogues of the Desert Sages offers nothing for Zhongli because he won’t heal unless Zhongli is a C6. However, the F2P 4-star weapon carries a 41% HP Secondary Stat, which can be great for Zhongli’s shield in Genshin Impact. Most players should have the R5 version of the Dialogues of the Desert Sages Polearm since the weapon and its refinements were given as rewards for participating in the Alchemical Ascension Event in Genshin Impact 4.5.

3 Black Tassel

• Primary Stat: 354 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 46.9% HP
• R5 Passive: Increases DMG against slimes by 80%.

Black Tassel is amazing for Zhongli as it strengthens his HP stat. This Polearm is not the best in terms of damage, but if players are building their Zhongli to be a dedicated Genshin Impact shielder, then Black Tassel is one of the best options for him.

2 Favonius Lance

• Primary Stat: 565 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
• R5 Passive: CRIT Hits have a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 6s.

Favonius Lance is great to boost Zhongli as a support in Genshin Impact. It offers less damage output compared to other Polearms, but with Favonius Lance, Zhongli can help the entire team regenerate their Energy, taking on an extra role as a Genshin Impact Battery.

1 Staff of Homa

• Primary Stat: 608 ATK
• Secondary Stat: 66.2% CRIT DMG
• Passive: HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% of the wielder’s Max HP. When the wielder’s HP is less than 50%, this ATK bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP.

Staff of Homa is the perfect weapon for Zhongli. It grants HP stat that’ll enhance his shield in Genshin Impact, but on top of that, the Polearm also converts some of that HP into ATK. This, accompanied by the weapon’s large CRIT DMG secondary stat, means that Zhongli will be enhanced in both offense and defense.
