Richter Belmont has his hands full in the upcoming second season of Castlevania: Nocturne. The heir to the Belmont clan has a handful of allies, but they’re badly outnumbered and on the run following the Season 1 finale. However, the arrival of Dracula’s half-human son, Alucard, may turn the advantage back in Belmont’s favor in the new trailer for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2.
Battlestar Galactica’s James Callis is reprising his role as Alucard from Netflix’s previous Castlevania animated series, and it’s been 300 years since he had to team up with a member of the Belmont family. Alucard’s return also comes at a low point for Richter and his closest friend, Maria Renard. The self-declared vampire messiah, Erzsebet Bathory, has turned Maria’s mother, Tera, into one of her undead followers, and it seems like Tera is embracing her new role as a vampire by placing her magical powers in the service of evil.
The trailer also brings back as Richter’s grandfather, Juste Belmont, and pits him in battle against Tera. But even if Richter, Maria, and the rest of their small group can find it within themselves to put down their former ally, Bathory is still edging closer to unleashing Hell on Earth. Alucard is a powerful ally, but his abilities may pale compared to what Bathory can do.
Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on January 16, 2025. Earlier this year, Castlevania: Nocturne received its own line of Funko Pops. The first season of Nocturne is already out on Blu-ray. Nocturne’s Richter Belmont was also one of the included characters in Vampire Survivors’ Ode To Castlevania DLC pack, which is available now.
