While third-party mods flooded Starfield mere days after it launched last year, official Bethesda-approved mod support and tools only arrived in June – and some of the best ones come at a cost, too. Well, here’s a free Starfield Creations mod that absolutely everyone playing the galactic RPG should download, because not only does it give you a suit and weapons based on the iconic Doom series, there’s also a dark new quest to go with it.
That’s right, if you’re a Doom enjoyer you can now cosplay as the Doom Slayer in Starfield thanks to this new mod called At Hell’s Gate. Created in celebration of the Doom series’ 31st birthday, At Hell’s Gate brings a gruesome-looking new adventure into the space game. “A band of mercenaries has narrowly escaped an encounter with something that can only be described as beyond evil,” the description reads. “Investigate this mysterious happening and prevent a vile force from invading your universe.”
With bespoke voice acting and a facility covered in glowing red ritual runes and huge piles of flesh and bone, a massive amount of effort has gone into making this mission. While it gets the Bethesda stamp of approval, it was the team over at Kinggath Creations that made At Hell’s Gate – a group of modders that have put out plenty of interesting content for Starfield, Fallout 4, and Skyrim in the past.
Once downloaded, this new Creations quest can be triggered by visiting an SSNN broadcast pillar in any major city, such as New Atlantis or Akila City.
After completing this hellish new quest, you’ll be rewarded with some amazing loot. Not only will you get two weapons resembling the Super Shotgun and the Crucible Blade, but you’ll also receive a spacesuit inspired by the Doom Slayer’s Praetor armor. It looks absolutely incredible.
Throughout At Hell’s Gate, there are also six Doom-themed plushies for you to find and collect. These can then become craftable decorations for your ships or your outposts.
Despite the high quality bar and the desirability of all that Doom Slayer gear, At Hell’s Gate is totally free on the Creations store, unlike some other Bethesda-approved additional quests, skins, and asset packs. You can download it now right here.
