Saitama vs. Orochi Is A Major Turning Point
The Strongest Human vs. The Strongest Monster
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 115, “Encounter” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
August 23, 2019 |
Orochi was teased to be the greatest villain in the entire Monster Association in season 2 of the anime. In the manga, the king of the monsters proves exactly why he’s so powerful, destroying weaker monsters and even swatting away Garou with barely any effort. Eventually, when the evil organization makes its existence known to the world by declaring war against the heroes, Orochi transforms into his true self and fights against Saitama.
You… do not appear to be useless trash that can be ignored.
Although the fight ends exactly how any combat encounter with Saitama does, it is absolutely terrifying to behold as Orochi’s true form and power make him the most formidable villain in the entire Association. The battle takes place inside the HQ of the Monster Association on many levels, eventually ending at the base of the HQ, which is filled with lava and has some mysterious messages on the wall. Despite Orochi giving it all that he has, Saitama ends the monster’s rampage with a single punch.
The Birth Of Psykos-Orochi
Tatsumaki and Genos’ Battle Against The Strongest Monster
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 128, “Invasive Touch” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
March 10, 2020 |
Although Orochi was seemingly killed in his battle against Saitama, he ended up surviving, albeit barely. In this new and weakened state, Orochi began to absorb other monsters in the hopes of reviving himself, eventually coming across Psykos to do the same to her. However, using her powers, she was able to resist the absorption, which eventually led to the two of them merging into the terrifying monster that fans dubbed ‘Psykorochi’; an amalgamation of Orochi’s incredible strength and Psykos’ psychic might, though both aspects were amplified.
The universe has been heading toward this outcome from the very beginning, and I’ve been chosen to lead the operation.
This fusion was arguably the strongest villain in the entire series up to that point, which was seen by how it was able to fend off so much of the Hero Association on its own. Although Tatsumaki fought it very well, even she began to get overpowered until Genos made an appearance. The cyborg was now stronger than ever before, showing off his abilities by helping Tatsumaki defeat the threat, leading to some of the coolest moments in the series between the heroes.

Monster Garou Fights His Old Teacher
The Long-Awaited Battle Between Them
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 148, “The Line” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
June 26, 2021 |
Ever since the beginning of the Monster Association arc, Garou had been going on a tear through the ranks of the Monster and Hero Associations, defeating every enemy of his that he came across. Through these tough battles, he underwent various awakenings, the greatest of which came after his defeat at the hands of Orochi, where he woke up covered in a dark carapace, fully becoming Monster Garou. This version of the character was even stronger than the ones before and made short work of many powerful characters.
With my own hands, I’ll make you come to your senses!
Eventually, he comes across his former master, Bang. Although they shared history, Garou’s monstrous form had almost made him feral, leading to a battle between the two. Though this was a showing of how strong Garou was, it also showed why Bang is considered the 3rd highest-ranked hero, as he fought his pupil on equal footing, showing how incredible his mastery over his style of Martial Arts is. The fight was extremely close but Garou only barely managed to defeat Bang in the end.
The Ultimate Purgatory Hellfire Burst Wave Motion Cannon
King Shows His Strongest Attack
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 154, “Ultimate Purgatory Hellfire Burst Wave Motion Cannon” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
December 3, 2021 |
The gag of King being thought of as the strongest man in the world despite wanting nothing to do with it is perhaps the funniest in the entire series. King’s power is the stuff of legend, although he doesn’t even possess any and is actually just incredibly lucky with how things pan out for him. There is perhaps no greater example of this than when the executives of the Monster Association are in front of him and they challenge him to unleash his strongest move.
If my innocence is under suspicion, I’m left with no choice.
Being egged on by the other heroes and being challenged by the villains, King begins to charge up his strongest move, which others have named the Ultimate Purgatory Hellfire Burst Wave Motion Cannon, although he knows it won’t do anything. However, within less than a second of him pretending to do the attack, Monster Garou blitzes onto the battlefield and sends the executives flying in the blink of an eye, making everyone think that King’s strongest attack actually worked.

A Threeway Fight Between The Fastest Characters
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 158, “Results” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
December 18, 2021 |
In one of the most spectacular fights in the entire series, the fastest characters in the setting (other than Saitama) go head-to-head in a battle that very few can even keep up with. After most of the Black Sperms merged, they formed the strongest version of the character; Platinum Sperm, who was renowned for his speed as one of the 4 fastest characters in One Punch Man at the time. Due to him, Garou, and Flashy Flash all being present on the battlefield, they fought in an amazing 3v3.
This can’t be! Just today I met four people who surpass my speed!
The entire fight took place in just a few seconds, but each of them was going so fast that they left breathtaking constellations in the sky. Eventually, Garou and Platinum Sperm proved to be even faster than Flashy Flash and knocked him out, continuing their battle until finally, Garou came out on top by killing the powerful Monster Cadre by passing through him, blowing him up in the process.
Cosmic Garou vs. Saitama Is The Series’ Best Fight
The Clash of the Strongest
First Appearance |
One Punch Man, Chapter 160, “Divide” |
---|---|
Debut Date |
March 10, 2022 |
After his light-speed clash, Garou even managed to defeat Sage Sentipede. However, none of his battles were even close in difficulty compared to his eventual fight against Saitama, which initially showed the Caped Baldy toying with Garou, despite the latter growing stronger with each passing moment. Eventually, they stopped their battle as it was revealed that Saitama simply couldn’t be beaten. However, Garou was eventually granted a vision by God and was gifted a fraction of his power, turning him into Cosmic Fear Mode Garou.
I am Garou, the monster. I will cast all of humanity into the depths of despair… and become Absolute Evil.
This was the Hero Hunter’s strongest form that emitted radiation which ended up killing everyone except for Saitama. After Garou kills Genos, the real battle between the two started, which led to the best fight in the entire series that somehow made its way to Io, a moon of Jupiter, where the two were initially evenly matched and showed some of the greatest feats of strength in the franchise’s history. Eventually, Saitama’s growth proved to far eclipse that of Garou, which made the villain unlock his strongest form; Saitama Mode. However, even this wasn’t enough, as Saitama just overpowered him in every aspect and eventually defeated the villain.
One Punch Man can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
