There are a lot of trinkets and talismans to obtain in Red Dead Redemption 2 but some of them are much better than others.

Beware: cheats will prevent achievements!

Updated on December 10, 2024, by Will Quick: Red Dead Redemption 2 was a huge release that built up a lot of anticipation. Even after all these years, there’s still many things to enjoy and appreciate about the game. There are plenty of achievements, side quests, and easter eggs to find scattered around, but there’s also wacky fun to be had. Try out these cheat codes and see for yourself.

Flourish Before You Die

Going Out Strong

Arthur and his gang member gunfighting in Red Dead Redemption 2.

When it comes to Rockstar crime games, there’s a fun activity you can play that was started back in Grand Theft Auto. You take turns giving the hero as much preparation as possible, turn the world against them, and see how long they last.

You can do this fairly easily in Red Dead Redemption 2 with other cheats for the setup and then plugging in this one. Entering ‘Flourish before you die’ will completely max out all of Arthur’s levels, like Deadeye, Health, Stamina, and such, instantly. With full recovery, you’ll be ready to make your last stand.

You Want Everyone To Go Away

Leave Me Alone, Please

Saint-Denis is lockdown mode in the map of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Sometimes you’ll just be riding through the wilderness or walking through town, and then you accidentally insult or punch someone. Pretty soon everyone is after you, sending you on the run and locking you out of your favorite spots. It can be exciting but also inconvenient.

You don’t always have the time or money for things to cool off and that’s why you need this cheat. Once this is entered, all bounties that Arthur has accrued will vanish and all the towns that are in lockdown will open up again. Who says you have to pay your debt to society?

What’s Mine Is Everyone’s

The Evelyn Miller campsite in Red Dead Redemption 2.

One of the overarching elements of this western odyssey is the campsite. Arthur and his gang will be on the move seeking out greener pastures to live free and safe. Of course, this means contributing a lot to the camp so that it can provide everything for everyone.

It feels good to earn the benefits of an improved camp over time, but it is understandable if you want all the good stuff now. You can get it quickly enough by entering this cheat, which will unlock all the camp upgrades. With a strong base, you’re now free to go out into the world and cause chaos.

Would You Be Happier As A Clown?

Join The Circus Gang

Spawning the Circus Wagon in Red Dead Redemption 2.

While most cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2 can be used instantly, this is one of the few that has to be unlocked. You have to complete the second part of the Epilogue and buy the Blackwater Ledger No. 73. It’s unfortunate because you can’t use the code as Arthur.

If you’re not careful, you could miss out on these items in RDR2.

Type in ‘Would you be happier as a clown?’ into the cheat menu to spawn a circus wagon. There’s not much else to it. It’s simple, goofy, and ideal for players who want something unique.

12

A Fool On Demand

Bottoms Up!

It’s hard to deny how gorgeous the views are in Red Dead Redemption. You could easily leave the game running in first-person and let the atmosphere take you away. Or you could do it while drunk. If you get motion sick, you’re going to have a terrible time.

In the cheat menu, type in ‘A fool on demand’ to get drunk wherever you please. It’s one of those codes you’ll rarely use, since it tends to make gameplay much more tedious, which does lend itself handy for challenges. You might miss the bar fights, though.

11

Run! Run! Run!

Never Stop Running

Player resting on a horse looking out at the horizon in RDR2.

As gorgeous as Red Dead Redemption 2’s landscape can be, traveling is an absolute slog. While this cheat won’t give you an instant travel option, it’ll spawn some much-needed help: a racehorse. Super speed would be ideal, but a fast horse is close enough in Rockstar’s book.

Type ‘Run! Run! Run!’ in the cheat menu to get your quality thoroughbred. There are no prerequisites needed either. Realistically, unless you want a racehorse, mods will be a better alternative.

10

You Want Freedom

It’s Your Destiny

Arthur and Dutch have a conversation in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The bounty system is a double-edged sword. It’s a great tool to punish terrible behavior and rampages, but it can also get exhausting when an NPC impedes your fun. We’ve all experienced a stray bounty and wanted level from an annoying NPC. With this cheat, you can avoid this.

Entering ‘You want freedom’ reduces your wanted level. Consequence-free action is what most people desire when playing a sandbox game. Realism is great and all, but sometimes you just want to shut your brain off and relax.

9

You Want Punishment

Are You Okay?

For those of us who want constant pandemonium, this cheat will solve this issue. Type ‘You want punishment’ into the cheat menu to get instant action. Why go through the hassle of upping the ante on the map when you can use this code?

Eat Of Knowledge

Consume And Learn

Arthur cooking at a campfire in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Crafting mechanics can be hit-or-miss in games. Honestly, you probably won’t do much crafting while playing RDR2. Some of the tools are fun, but if you have to go out of your way to find them, you’re most likely never going to use them.

Collecting every single one of RDR2’s crafting recipes can be time-consuming and costly if you spend a lot of money paying off your bounty. If you want to rush through the process, especially if you’re doing a re-play, type in ‘Eat of knowledge’ in the cheat menu. With one sentence, every single recipe is yours to use.

7

Greed Is American Virtue

Loaded Up

Freshly cleaned weapons in Red Dead Redemption 2.

If you’ve played Grand Theft Auto, you’ll be very familiar with this type of cheat. Weapon loadouts are a gift when you want to roam right here and now. Great weapons aren’t cheap but cheats skip that little detail.

Enter ‘Greed is American Virtue’ to get a pump-action shotgun, Mauser pistol, bolt-action rifle, and semi-automatic pistol. You’ll need to complete Chapter 3 to buy the newspaper to unlock it. Some grinding is required before you can use it, sadly.

6

Abundance Is The Dullest Desire

Have It All

RDR2’s realism is a gift and a curse. When it’s going well, the realism can feel great and immerse you into the story. However, when it’s not, you can feel your enjoyment draining fast. Ammo conservation is a big part of RDR2. It’s terrible when you run out of ammo during a fight.

Enter ‘Abundance is the dullest desire’ to get infinite ammo. You can’t use the code until after you’ve purchased the New Hanover Gazette No. 27 in Valentine. Fortunately, that means you only have to play for an hour or so to get to that point.

5

You Long For Sight And See Nothing

All Is Revealed

The whole complete map in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Exploration is the mainstay of any RPG, so you might as well see every nook and cranny. The amount of things you’ll discover makes the journey worthwhile. Sure, your experience won’t deviate too much from most players.

Vanity. All Is Vanity

Check Out The Mirror

Customization is the ultimate reprieve if you want your characters to be unique to your experience and enjoyment. Some outfits are locked behind certain missions and requirements, so if you want to have Arthur rock a specific look during your run, use this code.

‘Vanity. All is vanity’ unlocks all outfits available in-game. You don’t need to do anything else to use it either. Go pick your favorite outfits at camp! No one can stop you from looking your best anymore.

3

Better Than My Dog

Hear Me From Afar

Arthur on a rearing horse, silhouetted by rays of sunlight in Red Dead Redemption 2.

We’ve all gotten stranded from our horses. It happens quite often. Usually, a quick whistle will get your trusty steed back to you. However, there are times when your horse is just slightly out of range and won’t cooperate. Those moments feel like they happen more often than they should.

Enter ‘Better than my dog’ to increase your whistling range to infinity. No matter where you are on the map, your horse will come to you. It just might take a few tries, though.

2

The Lucky Be Strong Evermore

Never Tired

A screencap of Red Dead Redemption 2 depicting a hunting scene.

Let’s be honest for a minute. Stamina gauges are absolutely awful in many single-player games. Balancing aside, it can make a game feel downright sluggish and frustrating having to max out the stamina bar each time you want to travel. Rockstar seems to have taken a strong liking to this RPG component by giving you several gauges.

‘The lucky be strong evermore’ grants you unlimited stamina. Now, before you get excited and use it, you have to complete Chapter 5 and purchase Saint-Denis Times No. 49.

1

Be Greedy Only For Foresight

Eyes On The Target

John Marston using Deadeye in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Deadeye is most definitely the best mechanic in the Red Dead series. Mimicking old Western showdowns and gunning down your opponent in a flash is an incredible experience. The only downside is having to constantly recharge it. Some charms mitigate that issue, but sometimes it’s easier to never have to even think about the gauge.

Enter ‘Be Greedy only for Foresight’ to get unlimited deadeye usage. You could take out an entire town if you put your mind to it. You could also break some story missions too.
