The mysterious planet of Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail has eluded many people, even the Aeon of Trailblaze, Akivili. It’s set to be the fourth major world that’s debuting in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0, and according to Black Swan, it’s virtually unknown and can only be seen through the light of the Garden of Recollection’s mirrors.
Unlike previous worlds like Jarilo-VI and Penacony, there are limited to no records about life on Amphoreus, other than the fact that it’s fettered by three different Paths. The air of mystique surrounding Amphoreus has intrigued not only the Astral Express Crew, but also avid players of Honkai: Star Rail, adding more anticipation about the world. At the same time, it has been rumored that Amphoreus is a Greek-inspired planet, so HoYoverse is expected to deliver an impressive level of detail.

Honkai: Star Rail’s latest setting will break a pattern set by its predecessors that could make the game feel like a return to form.
Honkai: Star Rail Needs to Pull Out All the Stops For Amphoreus
Historically, Honkai: Star Rail always elevated itself whenever a new world or area is introduced. During its first year, it managed to grow the Xianzhou Luofu with the opening of Scalegorge Waterscape and Fyxestroll Garden, which both have different map structures and mechanics. But many fans paid attention when Penacony launched in Version 2.0, as it became the biggest map in Honkai: Star Rail to date. The Planet of Dreams and Festivities also introduced unique rotating puzzle rooms in the Dreamscape, which was a first for any HoYoverse game.
Because of this, the expectations for Amphoreus’ design are definitely high, as fans might be looking forward to a world that’s grander than Penacony. Apart from the rumors that Amphoreus could be Greek-inspired, the Golden Epic trailer also hinted that the planet suffered after a millennium-long conflict between gods and mortals, and that it’s up to the Chrysos Heirs to revive the planet. While this could mean that Amphoreus might be gloomy in the aftermath of the war, it’s still possible that it could be filled with lively characters and NPCs, and wondrous architecture inspired by Ancient Greece. Plus, Amphoreus is also a type of hot spring in Ancient Greece, so the Astral Express Crew could find a lot of them around the planet as well.
Another interesting detail about Amphoreus is that it’s connected to three Paths, with Erudition confirmed as one of them. It’s likely that the Path of Remembrance could also play a role in the story, especially since Honkai: Star Rail is officially introducing the new Path in Version 3.0. The Garden of Recollection, a faction that worships the Aeon, Fuli the Remembrance, also has its eyes on Amphoreus despite not seeing the goings-on of the planet. The Path of Destruction could also be there to wreak havoc on the citizens of Amphoreus by embedding a Stellaron within the planet, possibly causing corruption in certain areas.
Amphoreus’ Alleged Three Paths
- Path of Erudition: The Path is overseen by Aeon Nous, a sentient machine that provides knowledge to those who seek it.
- Path of Remembrance: An upcoming new Path that will allow players to summon independent memosprites that can aid them in battle. So far, the known characters who will officially wield Remembrance abilities are Aglaea and Trailblazer, and more characters are expected to be added to the list.
- Path of Destruction: Nanook the Destruction oversees the Path of Destruction, and Amphoreus’ Golden Saga trailer shows their hand outstretched from the ground during the conflict.
The mystery surrounding Amphoreus could be a strength for Honkai: Star Rail, because developers could have creative liberties to add a HoYoverse flavor to Greek mythology while building this planet and its stories. HoYoverse has previously created its own rendition of Norse mythology in Honkai Impact 3rd, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see developers’ interpretation of Ancient Greece in Amphoreus. At the same time, fans could also experience new mechanics while exploring the planet and fighting enemies, just like HoYoverse did with Penacony.
