Severance Season 2 May Reveal Sinister Clue About Ms Casey’s Disappearance

Severance Season two’s release date is just around the corner, which will finally put an end to the agonizing three-year wait that fans have had to endure since that season one cliffhanger. However, before that, a slew of new images have been revealed and among them, one could contain a hint at Ms Casey’s disappearance, and it doesn’t look good for the former wellness counselor. Apple TV+ has been home to some of the best shows, with the likes of The Morning Show, Blackbird and Ted Lasso topping the mark due to their polished narratives and stellar casting. However, Severance captivated audiences when it premiered in 2022 with its unique premise, polished writing, and strange yet compelling science fiction-themed undertones.

Created by showrunner Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller, Severance season two looks set to dive into many of its unanswered questions and plot mysteries, and other than what Mark and the group will do next after what they discovered at the end of Severance season one, all eyes are on what happened to Ms Casey, who disappeared after she was sent down to the Testing Floor at Lumon Industries.

Severance Season 2 Images Could Offer A Hint On Ms Casey’s Fate

Posted on Reddit from a Vanity Fair article, a batch of images from Severance season two shows off some stills of Mark, Irving, Helly, and Dylan in a variety of situations throughout the series. However, one image sees Irving sitting at Dylan’s work desk holding a missing poster of Ms Casey but rather than how a normal missing poster would look, with the person’s actual real-life photograph on it, it looks like one of Irving’s caricature portraits, which is a Lumon Industries Macrodata Refinement Tier 5 perk, earned when the employee completes 100% of their work. The image also shows one of these portraits that Irving did for Dylan of him boxing a kangaroo on the wall of his booth, possibly hinting that Gemma’s disappearance is a Lumon cover-up, because who really draws missing posters?

A popular theory has suggested that Gemma might actually be dead but that Lumon Industries used some kind of technology to create a “second life reboot” of sorts. There’s also the fact that Gemma doesn’t seem to carry a keycard like the other employees on the Severed floor, which seems to point to the theory that she never leaves Lumon, so she likely must be somewhere within the walls of the huge company. Severance showrunner Dan Erickson previously said that season two will be much “darker” than before, and from the looks of it, that may include Ms Casey too.

Severance season two will see the return of its beloved cast; Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, and Dichen Lachman, but also some new faces too. Game of Thrones‘ Gwendoline Christie, comedy drama star Bob Balaban, and Fringe’s John Noble will team up for a star-studded lineup when Severance returns on Apple TV Plus on January 17, 2025.
