Released at the end of October, Pokemon TCG Pocket has already held numerous events, giving fans even more reasons to log in each day.
Just over one month after its release on October 31, it was announced that Pokemon TCG Pocket had earned over $200 million in revenue, placing it just behind Pokemon Sleep and Pokemon Unite as the third best-selling app in the franchise. The game’s popularity only continues to grow, and with new cards and features on the way in future updates, the title seems primed and ready to evolve throughout 2025. Several events have been held in the weeks following its release, allowing players to snag rare cards and other goodies by logging in each day or participating in battles. The newest event, however, offers Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s toughest challenge to date.

Launched on December 9 and running until December 16, the Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 is the latest PvP event in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Players must win consecutive (and increasingly difficult) battles in order to earn special emblems that can be displayed on their in-game profile, and losing a battle will reset all progress. Unique emblems can be earned by winning two, three, four, and five consecutive battles, with the top emblem sporting a gold and purple crown and matching ribbon.
Players Must Win Five Consecutive Event Battles in New Pokemon TCG Pocket Event
Along with emblems, the new Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1 features 10 special missions that will reward players with Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust by participating in battles. Snagging these rewards is much easier, however, as Event Battles aren’t necessary, meaning that players can compete against friends or take part in random battles for a less competitive experience. In total, completing these 10 missions will reward players with 24 Pack Hourglasses and 3,850 Shinedust.
According to developers, new booster packs will be added to Pokemon TCG Pocket by the end of 2024, with fans eagerly awaiting more details as the year draws to a close. Thankfully, Genetic Apex booster packs will remain in Pokemon TCG Pocket following the next expansion, meaning that players don’t need to rush to complete their Pokedex. Starting in January 2025, players will also be able to trade “certain cards,” with the new feature slowly rolling out over time. The next event is rumored to be the Bulbasaur and Magnemite Wonder Pick Event 2, though this is currently unconfirmed.
