Gold makes its first appearance as a currency in Path of Exile 2. While the previous games mostly relied on using equipment and crafting reagents as the main form of currency for barter, players must now also collect actual money if they want to pay for good and services from NPCs.
Like in most ARPGs, you’ll likely find yourself swimming in gold just by playing through the game normally. However, if you’re really strapped for cash, here are a few tips you can use on how to get gold in PoE 2 as fast as possible.

You can reroll random modifiers in Path of Exile 2 on various types of gear; here’s how to do it.
Gold Farming in PoE 2
During the early game, the best way to farm gold is to simply clear maps that you are most comfortable with. Elite packs usually give hundreds of Gold each, not to mention you can get even more Gold from any Chests you find along the way. The Dreadnought in Act 2 is a good place to start, as it isn’t as wide and open as other zones found in PoE 2’s main campaign so far.
However, if you really want to farm gold, the best thing to do is to farm bosses, preferably ones that are close to a waypoint. Players can reset zone instances by interacting with a waypoint and pressing Ctrl+Click (Hold A/X for controllers) on the zone they want to farm.
Bosses to Farm
- Clearfell (Act 1 – Beira of the Rotten Pack)
- Ogham Manor (Act 1 – Candlemass and Lord Geonor)
- Mausoleum of the Praetor (Act 1 – Draven)
- Vastiri Outskirts (Act 2 – Rathbreaker)
- The Lost City (Act 2 – Galleria)
Unique bosses like Rathbreaker in Path of Exile 2 have a fairly decent chance of dropping good loot and decent amounts of Gold. However, Lord Geonor and other Act bosses have a much higher chance of dropping better-quality items. They may not be the most efficient sources of Gold, but they can be farmed for valuable items like Exalted Orbs, Regal Orbs, and so on.
Perhaps the best enemy to farm out of all these is Beira of the Rotten Pack, who can be found just north of the waypoint in Clearfell. This boss always appears close to the waypoint, which means players can teleport in, nuke Beira to death, and reset the instance in just a few minutes or less. She won’t drop much valuable loot early on, but once you beat Act 3 and replay the early access campaign in Cruel Difficulty, she will start dropping much better items and more Gold as well.
