- Treyarch’s frequent Double XP events in Black Ops 6 engage players.
Treyarch has confirmed that Double XP is returning to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on December 13, on what will be a big day for the game. This comes shortly after the previous Double XP event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Since the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there have already been several Double XP events in the game. This allows dedicated players to speed up their leveling while en route to Prestige Master. However, these events haven’t all gone smoothly so far. There has been tons of controversy surrounding Black Ops 6 Double XP, with many players reporting that they earned below 1.5x the standard XP rate, as opposed to the alleged 2x multiplier. These problems were still prevalent as of the most recent Double XP event, so hopefully Treyarch manages to fix them this time around.

In a tweet, Treyarch confirmed that on December 13, Double XP, Double Weapon XP, Double Battle Pass XP, and Double GobbleGum Earn Rate will be turned on. This will coincide with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer and Zombies free trial, allowing players jumping in for the first time to enjoy increased XP rates and catch up to other players much faster than usual. As of right now, Treyarch has not confirmed how long this Double XP event will run.
Double XP is Coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on December 13
Prior to this, the most recent Black Ops 6 Double XP event began on November 27, lasting the weekend through to December 1. With Double XP already back just 12 days later, it seems that Treyarch is being frivolous with these kinds of events this time around. There’s no doubt that it keeps players more engaged throughout the year, especially for players who drop the game and return periodically for these events. With this in mind, it makes sense that Double XP would already be back so soon, especially with many gamers settling in for the holiday season.
Given the typical 12-month lifecycle of Call of Duty games, it’s still very early doors for Black Ops 6. Treyarch has already released plenty of content for the game, including the recent Season 1 Reloaded update. There’s sure to be plenty more to come, too. One recent rumor even suggests that a classic map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to return in Black Ops 6. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it would be great to see Treyarch revisit some of its older maps in the new game.
