Assassination Classroom was written by Yusei Matsui. The manga began serializing in the Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2012. The manga released 180 chapters, and all of them were compiled into 21 volumes. The manga has performed well in terms of sales. According to the last available report, Assassination Classroom has sold more than 25 million copies. It is worth noting that the report is from 2016, so the new number is likely to be higher.
It also received a spin-off titled Koro Sensei Quest, which was written by Jo Aoto and Kizuku Watanbabe. The spin-off was serialized in Saikyo Jump from October 2015 to October 2019.
