Secret Of The Wary Shopkeep In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Metaphor: ReFantazio has a lot of secrets below the surface of every town for those who take the time to look around and explore. If you choose to play on one of the higher difficulties, these secrets will give huge bonuses that can make facing the game’s toughest bosses much easier.

One of these secrets can be found shortly after arriving in Brilehaven and talking to the Wary Shopkeep. This Eugief’s will usually only sell Medical Herbs, though it’ll be clear that there is another secret to this shop that needs to be uncovered; here’s what the secret inventory is and how to unlock it.

The Wary Shopkeep is found on Seabreeze Street in Brilehaven, the first road you enter the town on. Normally he sells an infinite number of Medical Herbs, though just about all general stores also sell them for the same price. Talking to him will have Gallica think there is a secret, though you’ll need to progress the main story and reach Virga Island before you can figure out what the secret is.

In Virga Islands, head to the Golden Deer Hearth and talk to the informant along the back right of the room to purchase the Secret of the Eugief’s Stall for 1,000 Reeve. This will let you return to the Wary Shopkeep easily with the fast travel system and have full access to his secret inventory.

The Player Shopping From The Secret Inventory

The Wary Shopkeep’s secret inventory is masks that can be used to craft arcana masks for the Masked Dancer Archetype. All the masks cost 25,000 Reeve a piece, and you can purchase the following ones only once:

  • Devil White Mask
  • Tower White Mask
  • Star White Mask
  • Moon White Mask
  • Sun White Mask
  • Judgment White Mask

Once you get the Secret of the Eugief’s Stall, the Wary Shopkeep will no longer sell Medical Herbs at all and only have the secret inventory for sale.

You’ll need to purchase all of these if you aim at getting the achievement of crafting every Mask and Vessel in the game. If you plan on using the Masked Dancer Archetype, it’s highly recommended you craft as many masks as possible, as they will all come in handy at some point or another when trying to have a specific resistance or hitting a difficult boss’ weakness.
