One Piece Manga Reaches A Major Milestone

Every week, One Piece is in the headlines, and usually for the right reasons. This time, One Piece hit another milestone, and the official social media accounts wasted no time acknowledging it.

According to a new post, One Piece has officially hit 10,000 days of serialization. The manga began serializing on July 22, 1997, and it reached the 10,000-day mark on December 7, 2024. Over the span of 10,000 days, Eiichiro Oda has averaged a chapter every 8.8 days. This shows how serious the One Piece author is about his craft. Most mangaka opt for a less hectic schedule and try to reduce their workload so that it doesn’t affect their health.

Eiichiro Oda Is In A League Of His Own

In 2024, One Piece fans received many scares because of Oda’s health. The One Piece author was forced to take breaks because of his poor health. In November, he went on a two-week break as his health suddenly worsened. Naturally, fans were worried about Oda, and many of them strongly believed that he should take an extended break from drawing manga.

However, the One Piece author has not yet put down his pen. In the past, Oda made it clear that he doesn’t want to take breaks because fans are always waiting for new One Piece chapters. This shows that Eiichiro Oda is very different from other authors. He is willing to put his audience’s happiness over his own health.

There was another major update related to one of the main voice actors in the anime. It was confirmed that Kazuki Yao, the voice actor of Franky, would be stepping down from his role. This announcement came as a shock to fans, as they could not believe that he would be leaving One Piece before the anime ended. While this is certainly saddening, the staff have already lined up a replacement, which will be revealed at the Jump Festa.

The Jump Festa Could Be Big For One Piece Fans

The Jump Festa will also have information about other upcoming One Piece projects such as movies and video games. The last One Piece movie was released in 2022, and it received a great deal of praise from the audience. So it makes perfect sense for Oda and his staff to announce another movie.

There is also a great deal of speculation that the upcoming Jump Festa will have a panel dedicated to the One Piece remake by Wit Studio. Earlier this year, the studio revealed new character designs for the Straw Hat Pirates. Wit Studio did not disclose a release date for the remake, but that might change in the upcoming weeks.
