While Marvel Rivals may have only just launched, the community already seems to have a ton of ideas about how this game could get even better. Players have suggested countless heroes for the roster, there are so many cosmetics they would love to get their hands on, and so many different locales across the Marvel universe that could make for some fantastic battlefields. All of that sounds extremely promising, but there is one possible addition that could take Marvel Rivals to the next level: Announcer Packs.
As of now, each battle in Marvel Rivals‘ is narrated by Galacta, the daughter of Galactus. She gives players updates on what is going on, introduces various aspects of the map, and does everything one would expect an announcer to do. She serves as the player’s constant companion through each match, and although she is a great addition, NetEase Games could add a whole new layer to this experience with the introduction of Announcer Packs. As long as they include fantastic characters and are reasonably priced, players would likely love them.

Marvel Rivals Could Shine With the Addition of Announcer Packs
There Are So Many Marvel Characters Waiting to Narrate Matches
While NetEase Games has not said it is planning on adding Announcer Packs to Marvel Rivals anytime soon, the massive potential is too hard to ignore. There are so many different characters throughout the Marvel Universe with their own unique voices and mannerisms that could be a joy to listen to during intense battles. The likes of J. Jonah Jameson could rant about the players, Groot could deliver various versions of “I Am Groot,” Professor X could give players all sorts of deep thoughts and instruction, and Thanos could spend the time talking down to them.
Announcer Packs would not be a brand-new idea, as many games like Marvel Rivals have utilized the concept to allow players to further cater their experience to their liking. Games such as Heroes of the Storm and Dota 2 have offered a plethora of unique voice packs, with each one giving the game a whole new feel. Players have loved getting their hands on them, and many have called for the likes of League of Legends and Overwatch 2 to add them as well. And now, all eyes are on Marvel Rivals to do the same, and hopefully it does.
NetEase Games Needs to Go All in On the Announcer Pack Concept
Announcer Packs would not only give players so much more control over their Marvel Rivals games, but it would also be a fantastic way to explore characters that will likely never be a part of the main roster. All the different side characters over the years, like J. Jonah Jameson, would fit right at home in this feature. Additionally, if the studio wanted to pull from the roster, then there are so many characters that seem like perfect fits to narrate games, especially if the rumors of Deadpool joining the fray are true.
Announcer Packs could also serve as a great source of revenue for NetEase Games, as it could either include them as separate store purchases or as part of Marvel Rivals‘ battle pass. If players knew they might be able to get their hands on a new announcer, then they may be more inclined to take the leap on these microtransactions. As long as they were top-notch additions, the studio could churn these out for years to come.
Since Marvel Rivals just launched, it will likely be a bit before the studio adds any new form of cosmetic to the game. Right now, it is probably focused on balancing the many heroes and starting to release a consistent post-launch content stream. But it should really consider delving into the world of Announcer Packs eventually. Even if there are only a few for special events, it could be a fantastic addition to the formula.
