The story of the Succession War just took a huge turn, with Martial Law speeding up everything. The Succession War arc is set to be one of the best HxH arcs, and perhaps one of the best arcs in anime history.

The last three chapters of HxH, chapters 407, 408, and 409, all focus was on the one card game going on between Morena, the leader of the Heil-Ly, and Borksen, one of Tserriednich’s personal army members. In the last chapter, fans saw that Borksen ended up choosing the “Yes” card. Fans were wondering why she would do this when she did not wish to join Morena. In this chapter, readers discover why. Borksen was forced to choose between Yes and No, and couldn’t pick the X card, all for one good reason. Borksen cheated. Morena’s ability makes it so that if someone cheats, they only have these two options, and all others are lost.

It’s revealed that Borksen cheated by putting a tiny indentation on the card when she asked to double-check them. Borksen even tried to hide that by crumbling the card at the end. However, her cheating did not escape Morena’s ability, and that’s why she was penalized. While Borksen confirmed her answer that she chose the Yes Card out loud, on the inside, she did not want that. That is one of the manipulation sides of Morena’s ability that activated with her cheating. Morena definitely looked disappointed by Borksen’s actions, but they were definitely expected, as she did not want to die by picking the “No” card.

While it did backfire on Borksen, possibly landing on the No card would’ve had more dire consequences for her than saying Yes.

Borksen Joins the Heil-Ly In HxH Chapter 410

Morena Reveals More Information about Contagion

As the game ended with a Yes from Borksen, it fulfills yet another requirement for Morena’s Nen ability to activate in her. She has already been kissed by Morena, so the only thing left for her to do is to witness a Heil-Ly commit a murder.

When that is accomplished, she will become a Level 1 member, compared to now, where she holds Level 0. Once she reaches level 1, then she can start killing to level up and eventually acquire a Nen ability.

Morena actually reveals more information about her Contagion Nen ability. She tells Borksen that a civilian is one level, a Nen user is 10 levels, and a Prince is 50 levels. Readers already know all of this. What’s new is that Morena compares Contagion to a game app. In this game, she manages the data. She can know the members’ level, number of points, location, and status. One cannot exit this game, unless the person clears the game, which means reaching level 100 and starting their own game, or if the admin dies, or also if the “phone” is destroyed, which isn’t elaborated on further.

Morena reveals that members of the Heil-Ly are actually free to do what they want, as long as they are deemed useful in the long run. She even reveals that killing of Heil-Ly members is fine, to whatever extent Morena herself deems okay. If Borksen isn’t useful to her, she and the Heil-Ly can decide to kill her and open up a new spot for a better candidate. This means if Morena finds another specialist, and they deem them more useful, they will kill Borksen.

Borksen does decide to go back to the personal army. Before that, however, she wants to meet up with the Heil-Ly to learn more about them. Borksen also knows she has to level up and gain a Nen ability as soon as possible, and if not, she will be killed by Morena and the Heil-Ly. Borksen could acquire one by just killing a Nen user once she’s a level 1 member.

Readers also got to see the dark side of Morena, which is quite different from the cute nature she had on display in the last 3 chapters during the card game. This is closer to Morena’s true, ruthless nature.

Benjamin Is Seen In Action In Hunter x Hunter Chapter 410

Benjamin Has Captured Most of the Other Princes

Besides everything going on between Morena and Borksen, the major event going on behind the scenes was Martial Law. This Martial Law was declared recently in HxH, and it means trouble for everyone involved.

HxH 410 showcases the military of Kakin under martial law, with them searching civilians and rooms. The soldiers in this chapter discover room 3101, which was more than likely the room where Nobunaga and Hinrigh explored chapters ago, as it led to the Heil-Ly hideout. These soldiers report back to Benjamin, who is behind this entire Martial Law problem.

At first glance, when reading this chapter, readers could very well assume that most of the Kakin Princes have been killed by Benjamin. However, it’s more likely that he has had them captured to use as hostages, although some casualties aren’t out of the picture.

Benjamin orders his men to focus on finding Zhang Lei, who has escaped to Tier 2 to reunite with his Mafia family. Prince Luzurus is also unaccounted for, but he could be dead.

Benjamin declared Martial Law to finish this Succession War once and for all, and he was on very limited time. He only has about nine and a half hours left before he dies, as he seems to have been affected by something, possibly the same weapon used against Halkenburg. Who did this is unknown, but it could be Halkenburg in Might’s body.

Benjamin plans to become the successor. Once he becomes the successor, he will make his illegitimate child the successor before he dies. This chapter indeed reveals that Benjamin has a child. This was a popular theory as a child crib was seen in Queen Unma’s room.

HxH 411 Release Date

HxH is going on a hiatus. Because of that, it’s unknown when HxH 411 will be released for fans to read. It’s likely that this hiatus will not be as long, as Togashi has already planned to write until chapter 430. In fact, HxH 411 is already finished.
