What seemingly looks like a regular fountain, is actually an entrance to a complete underground area filled with statues, puzzles, and secrets of the Vatican. But, before accessing the underground area, you must complete the Fountain of Confession puzzle to open the entrance.

The Fountain of Confession in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle

Players will automatically come across the Fountain of Confession after completing their journey across the Necropolis in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. After reaching the Fountain, you’ll need to make your way on top of it through a barred gate towards the left of it. The key for the Fountain Gate is located on the left inside a box as well.

Making your way to the top, Indy will notice one of the dragon statues is missing a claw. Making your way back down, you’ll spot a claw on one of the scaffolds. However, while picking up the Claw, Indy is startled by Gina, and falls on the ground. So, this is the point where you must uncover the entrance to the underground section through a series of puzzles hidden behind the Fountain of Confession.

In Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, there’s a second locked chest that players will find in a Cellar in the Vatican City containing some loot.

Uncovering the Hidden Entrance Behind the Fountain of Confession

The first step in solving the Fountain of Confession puzzle is uncovering the hidden entrance to the underground section. Here’s what you need to do that.

  1. Climb back up to the dragon statues using the scaffolding this time around.
  2. Attach the Dragon Claw to the white dragon to reveal a lever on its side. Rotate the statue so that it’s facing in the right direction, towards the dark dragon statue.
  3. Use your Bullwhip to get across the gap and interact with the dark dragon’s claw to reveal a level here too. Use the lever to turn the dark dragon towards the left, so it’s facing the white dragon.
  4. Once both dragon statues are facing each other, the Fountain of Confession will start opening up a bit, revealing a dragon statue in the middle. Climb back down and Whip Yank the ring on the statue’s back to reveal the underground entrance behind the Fountain of Confession.


Solving the Baptism Puzzle

The underground entrance is locked and players must complete two puzzles to unlock it, the first of which is a depiction of a Baptism. Here’s how to solve this puzzle.

  1. A big lever will be revealed at the base of the Fountain, pull it towards the left to rotate the entrance and reveal the Baptism puzzle.
  2. Whip Yank the chain on top of the bowl on the top right to drop the Holy Water into the statue’s bucket.
  3. Now drag the status towards the left until the water in the bucket spills over the status on the left, sitting in the basin.
  4. Once this happens, the entrance will start to rotate and one of the statues guarding the entrance will lift its weapon.

Solving the Ark of Bulrushes Puzzle

Now it’s time to solve the Ark of Bulrushes, which is a puzzle that requires a bit more work. Here’s how you can solve it quite easily.

  1. Head back to the lever at the base of the Fountain and pull it over to the right to reveal the second puzzle, which indicates Moses in an Ark going down the river Nile.
  2. First, you’ll have to turn the innermost dial until its middle opening is facing down, which drops the wooden plank blocking the pathway for the boat to cross.
  3. Now, turn the outermost dial until it aligns with the boat to the left.
  4. Once the path for the boat is clear, Whip Yank the chain on the top right side to move the boat to the middle of the contraption.
  5. Here, players must rotate the middle dial to open a path for the boat to cross over to the right side of the contraption.
  6. Once the path is clear, Whip Yank the chain on the right again so that the boat makes its way to the right side.
  7. This will trigger the entrance to rotate again, and the second statue will lift its weapon from the entrance.


Completing the Fountain of Confession Puzzle

You’re at the finish line and the Fountain of Confession puzzle is almost complete. Now all you need to do is push the statue with the child into the gate. This will prompt the gate to open up, and you’ll keep dragging the statue inside the gates. Once the statue is placed in the middle of the chamber, a hidden staircase will open up underneath, making the Fountain of Confession puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle complete.
