Mualani is the first character in the game who hails from Natlan, and here’s how you can build her to get the most value.
Natlan has a tribe system, and each tribe has its own Reputation rank. Additionally, there is a combined Reputation rank tied to the individual ranks of the tribes. While it’s a bit complicated to understand, this guide will provide you with a rundown of all the necessary details regarding Natlan’s Reputation system.
Natlan Reputation System Explained
Before you can access the Reputation system in Natlan, you’ll have to finish the Archon Quest: Chapter V Act I Flowers Resplendent on the Sun Scorched Sojourn. Once the Archon Quest is finished, you can start working towards the Reputation system across each tribe.
Natlan is divided into six tribes spread across the entire nation. These include Children of Echoes, Scions of Canopy, People of the Springs, Flower-Feathered Clan, Masters of the Night-Wind, and Collective of Plenty.
In version 5.2, you can raise the reputation of only five tribes. These include Children of Echoes, Scions of Canopy, People of the Springs, Flower-Feathered Clan, and Masters of the Night-Wind. Collective of Plenty is still unavailable and cannot be leveled up by any means.
Once the Reputation system is unlocked, you can reach the black stone tower in the various tribe headquarters and start progressing. Each tribe has its rank, called Tribe Reputation, and you’ll need to level up individually for the rewards. This is something that doesn’t exist in any other nation in the game.
Apart from the individual ranks, there’s a collective system as well called Gift From the Speaker’s Chamber, which levels up as you max out the Reputation in the individual tribes. If you want the Wind Glider from Natlan, you’ll have to max out the Reputation Ranks, which can be earned by completing the following tasks.
Tribal Chronicles
These are tribe-specific story quests that dive into the history, lore, and specific characters of the various regions within Natlan. You can locate them by the red quest marks on the map and can be found within every tribe headquarters.
Finishing these will reward you with 200 EXP towards that individual tribe. For instance, if you pick up the Tribal Chronicles for Children of Echoes, the EXP you gain will level up the Reputation for that tribe only.
The Tribal Chronicle Quests across all the various tribes are as follows:

Regional Quests
Apart from Tribal Chronicles, you’ll also find regional quests specific to each tribe in Natlan. These can be found in the quests section in the Reputation menu for each tribe. These have a blue marker similar to world quests and each of them offers 200 EXP towards leveling up the Reputation of the particular tribe that it is linked to.
Bounties and Supply Quests
Bounties and Supply Quests become available after you unlock Reputation level 1 for an individual tribe. You can pick up these bounties or supply quests from the Reputation menu for each tribe and complete them for EXP.
However, the number of bounties or supply quests you pick up per week is limited to three. If you have completed them in some other nation or one particular region in Natlan, you cannot pick them up from another region. For instance, if you have completed them from Inazuma or from the People of the Springs tribe in Natlan, you cannot pick them up for another tribe for that week.
You can pick up a maximum of three bounties and supply quests per week and the number is counted across all regions.
Exploration
Exploration also helps out massively in leveling up the Reputation across the various tribes. However, similar to previous systems, you’ll have to explore the individual regions to raise the Reputation of a particular tribe.
You gain 200 EXP for every 20% exploration completed across the respective tribes. You’ll receive the full points once you complete 60% exploration.
