Marvel Rivals is a live-service third-person shooter game, enabling players to build teams of six different Heroes. You can mix and match across three different roles to come up with your own strategy, as well as synergy and Team-Up picks. From iconic villains from the Marvel franchise to the Avengers themselves, there are plenty of different characters, each coming with their own ability kit and unique playstyle.
As part of account personalization, players can create and choose their own usernames. However, some players may need to change this username for a variety of reasons, such as typos, a change to reflect their favorite/main hero, or when they just feel the need to switch things up for something new. Luckily, Marvel Rivals enables players to change their usernames. Everything you need to know about how to change your username in Marvel Rivals, as well as all username restrictions and rules, has been included in the guide below.

How to Change Your Name in Marvel Rivals
Upon entering Marvel Rivals for the first time, all new players will be prompted to create an account, complete with choosing their own username. There is quite a bit of flexibility with usernames, but there can be no duplicate names, as this is how the players will be able to search for one another and add their friends.
Once you have decided on your own unique username, you may decide further down the line (or even sooner, if you feel you’ve made a mistake) that you wish to change this username to something else. Thankfully, this is possible, but there are a few minor restrictions that you will need to keep in mind when considering changing your username.
First, you will need to head over to your Career Profile. To do this, simply click on your icon in the top right corner of the main menu. Here you will be able to look at stats such as your time played, wins, achievements unlocked, Competitive Rank, and more. Next to your username on your Career Profile, there will be an edit icon shaped like a pencil. Clicking on this will take you to a page where you can buy a Rename Card, which is how you change your username.
Rename Cards are priced at 500 Units, which means you can either grind your way through the Battle Pass, achievements, and other opportunities through playing the game. Alternatively, you can purchase Lattice for real-world currency, and then convert it into Units to purchase a Rename Card.
When purchasing a Rename Card, there are a couple of things you will want to keep in mind:
- The Rename Card only enables you to change your username once every seven days, so you can’t spam username changes. Be sure that you are set on your new username before completing the change.
- You will not be able to duplicate any names or claim a name that is already in use by someone else through name changing. Just as during account creation, all usernames must be unique from one another.
