Fortnite is adding a highly requested and long-awaited chat feature to the game on December 10. Fortnite just started its sixth chapter called “Hunters,” sporting a more traditional Japanese theme than what Fortnite has touched upon before.
So far, the current chapter has been well received by fans. This chapter brings an additional movement mechanic, with wall kicking and wall scrambling being brought to Fortnite for the first time. The new movement mechanics also allow players to roll after they fall from a ledge, making them take less damage than they would from a far enough distance.

Could Fortnite Ballistic Compete With Counter-Strike?
Fortnite is launching its own first-person, 5v5 experience on December 11. I think that given the popularity that Fortnite has gained over the years, it absolutely has what it takes to compete with CS.
In a report on December 9 by The Verge, Fortnite announced it is getting support for a revamped version of the in-game text chat feature. This will be available as an option for all players on December 10, with multiple kinds of text chat available. A party channel will allow talking with a player’s squad, a game channel for public conversations, and the option to DM people on your friends list. Epic only had voice chat and lobby text chat as a means of communication for years, with proximity chat being one of the voice options in Fortnite. Concerns were made in the past about text chat being abused, but Epic has taken steps to mitigate any harm the feature may pose for players.
The New Chat Features in Fortnite Will Also Come with Filters
Along with the various channels of text chat, Epic is also adding two kinds of chat filters. One removing personal information, and another that filters out “various kinds of mature language and toxicity.” The language filter will be turned on by default for all players under the age of 13, and it will also include a reporting system like the voice reporting tool Epic added to Fortnite last year.
Chapter 6 is set to be full of major crossovers, with a rumored Hatsune Miku collaboration coming to Fortnite soon. The chapter already has Godzilla, Baymax, various Spiderverse characters, and cars from the Fast and Furious. Even more are planned to come soon with Cyberpunk 2077, Avatar, and even Disney Pixar’s Cars in the works. Fortnite has been a major powerhouse for clashing major properties together over the past few years, bringing much excitement to fans.
The end of the last chapter had a major concert event featuring Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, Eminem, and the late rapper Juice WRLD. The live event featured the debut of a new Juice WRLD song in Fortnite, with the addition of a music video for the song at the end of the concert. Fortnite hadn’t done a major concert like this since Ariana Grande’s in 2021. Fans of Fortnite can look forward to more live events, game modes, and features coming to the game as time goes on.
