Square Enix has confirmed that the annual Starlight Celebration will return to Final Fantasy 14 to cap off an event-filled 2024, bringing festive cosmetic rewards available for players who complete limited-time quests. The Final Fantasy 14 Starlight Celebration will kick off on December 16 and will run for the remainder of the year.
Held every December, the Starlight Celebration is Final Fantasy 14′s take on Christmas. Each year, festive cosmetics are given out to players who participate in the celebration, often by handing out gifts to children and other NPCs around the realm. According to the game’s lore, the Starlight Celebration is hosted by the Adventurer’s Guild with assistance from Godbert Manderville, the founder of the Manderville Gold Saucer. As part of the festivities, Godbert often dresses incognito as a Santa-inspired figure called the Saint of Nymeia, named after one of Eorzea’s Twelve Gods. Nymeia the Spinner appeared as a boss in Endwalker‘s Myths of the Realm alliance raid series, alongside her brother, Althyk the Keeper.

Though last year’s Starlight Celebration gave Final Fantasy 14 players a Santa suit as a glamour set, this year’s festivities will offer new rewards. According to Square Enix, the Starlight Celebration will begin on December 16 at 3:00 AM Eastern and will end on December 31 at 9:59 AM Eastern. The rewards this time around include Starlight Stalls Chocobo Barding, the Starlight Kinderpunsch and Starlight Mug Tower housing items, a Festive Starlight Celebration Advertisement poster, and an Orchestrion Roll for a song called “Winter’s Warm Boughs” that players will likely hear during this year’s event. Players can participate in the Starlight Celebration by speaking to a Miqo’te NPC named Amh Garanjy at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Gridania to begin the quest “Reach for the Stalls,” which requires players to reach level 15 or higher.
