Key Takeaways
- CD Projekt Red will give details about Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.2 on December 10 at 5 PM CET.
- The update won’t include a PS5 Pro version but will offer “cool stuff.”
CD Projekt Red has recently announced that an upcoming stream on December 10 will give players more information about the unexpected Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077. It seemed that CDPR was already done with Cyberpunk 2077 after the previous updates, so this is excellent news for gamers who still want to continue playing the popular action RPG.
Despite its troubled launch back in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 eventually became one of the most popular titles of recent years. After several patches and the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 30 million copies, becoming CDPR’s second most-sold title, behind only The Witcher 3.

Speculation has swirled about one major feature in the next Witcher game, and Cyberpunk 2077 shows how well it could work, if it is implemented.
Now, CD Projekt Red has revealed that December 10, which marks the four-year anniversary of the game’s launch, will have a stream focused on the upcoming Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077, starting at 5 pm CET. Unfortunately, the developers have yet to reveal the new content being introduced in the update, and CDPR’s global community director Marcin Momot only confirmed a couple of changes that will not be available. One of them is that Cyberpunk 2077 will not receive a PS5 Pro update, as previously stated by CDPR, and the other is that the 2.2 update will not offer a New Game Plus. In any case, Momot promised “some other cool stuff in the oven” for the stream.

This is not the only Cyberpunk 2077-related news to surface recently. Last month, CD Projekt Red confirmed that another Cyberpunk 2077 animation project is currently being developed with Netflix. The previous Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a huge hit, so it makes sense to continue the trend by releasing a new animation. Unfortunately, no more details have been provided regarding the project, which will not necessarily be a direct sequel to Edgerunners, which was planned as a complete story from the start.
Despite the upcoming update for Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR’s main focus at the moment is the next Witcher game. Back in November, the developer revealed that The Witcher 4 has entered full-scale production, and most of the resources of the Polish studio will be focused on its completion. At the moment, it’s still unknown when the fourth installment of the Witcher franchise will be released, but this news could indicate that the project will not be available before 2026, considering how lengthy the development of huge, open-world games tends to be. Hopefully, CDPR will bring more information about the upcoming entry of the popular franchise soon, though.
