At the end of May 2024, CD Projekt Red confirmed that, for the first time in 10 years, no one at the studio was working on Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion came out in September 2023, with the final major update landing in December 2023.
Cyberpunk 2077 originally launched in December 2020. It had a rough launch beset with major bugs and other issues; the problems were so bad that Sony even removed the game from sale on the PSN. CD Projekt Red steadily supported the game over time with numerous updates and improvements, and the PlayStation edition was reinstated on the PSN.
The game has gone on to sell more than 30 million copies, making it one of the most commercially successful video games in history.
In addition to this new Cyberpunk 2077 update, CD Projekt Red is working on multiple other projects right now, including The Witcher 4 and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
