Running and fighting require stamina, and here’s how players can regain and eventually increase it in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Once players reach the captain’s quarters in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Himalayan chapter, it’s time to put on a thinking cap instead of the classic Indy fedora to solve the Captain’s Cipher and figure out just how it works and what the door code is to finish the puzzle for good.

How to Solve the Captain’s Cipher

the captain's code

Once players reach the Captain’s Quarters, they will see a table with a few dead Nazis. On the table, there’s a note for the Captain’s Code, in which the only letters that players need to be aware of are “JÖGM”. These are the 4 letters that must be placed into the translator box.

Head past the table, as players are looking for the cipher box found at the end of the room to the left. With this box, 4 cipher wheels need to be picked up and placed in a specific order, from left to right:

  • The wheel found on the floor by the cipher wheel needs to be placed in the 1st slot. (letters: R, C, D, O, A, J, B, S)
  • The top wheel on the shelf next to the cipher needs to be placed in the 2nd slot. (letters: L, U, F, H, E, K, T, Ö)
  • The wheel on the shelf beside the note needs to be placed in the 3rd slot. (letters: O, A, H, I, G, U, V, Z)
  • The wheel on the floor beside the cipher wheel needs to be placed in the 4th slot (letters: B, P, W, Y, M, T, N, X)

With these letters placed into the cipher, interact with the lid of the box and then use the left stick to input “JÖGM”. Now, players can look at the letters underneath “JÖGM” to find the keyword that will translate the code, and this word should be: BLUT.

With BLUT found, head to the Code Table located on the table with the dead Nazis and look in the left column, as the 12th row will have the word BLUT, along with the 4 numbers associated with it: 3666.

This can be found once players understand how the translation and decryption work from the Kummetz Cipher. While there is no reward for completing this puzzle, it is essential for the path going forward, as it’s involved in the central story revolving around Indy’s adventure.
