Black Ops 6’s Leaked TMNT Collab Explained

Black Ops 6's Leaked TMNT Collab Explained

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been rolling out crossovers and special skins since its October launch, and one recent leak has suggested that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration is on the way sometime in the near future. The claim suggesting that TMNT is coming to Black Ops 6 is based on data mining evidence that could offer a hint at the beloved “heroes in a half shell” playing a role in a crossover. Black Ops 6 has already confirmed high-profile collaborations with beloved pop culture properties, but TMNT will be a major franchise to feature, if true.

According to an X account called COD Warfare, an unnamed data miner has shared screenshots that they claim prove a TMNT crossover in Black Ops 6 is imminent. While there is no mention of actual skins featured in this potential crossover, the data miner responsible for this bit of news has found five melee weapons listed within the game that seem to clearly point to TMNT.

Leaked Melee Weapons

  • Skateboard
  • Katana
  • Sais
  • Nunchakus
  • Bo Staff

This list of melee weapons may not outright confirm a TMNT crossover, but this roster is perfectly in line with the items all four turtles use in combat. The inclusion of a skateboard only further gives weight to these leaks, as well. This wouldn’t be the first time TMNT was featured in a Call of Duty game, either. Shredder was added to Modern Warfare 2 last year, and that has only made this leaked TMNT collaboration feel that much more likely.

With the four turtles’ weapons represented in the data of Black Ops 6, it feels like only time will tell when TMNT makes an official appearance in the game. Of course, until Activision makes an announcement, this is still considered a rumor, but the evidence regarding such a crossover is strong. However, TMNT potentially collaborating with Black Ops 6 could bring forth more controversy than excitement, as the game’s various collaborations and cosmetics have been divisive among players.

Call of Duty’s Crossover Skins Continue to Cause Controversy

Through the years, the Call of Duty franchise has embraced more extravagant skins and crossovers that some players claim distract from the experience. For longtime fans who prefer a more grounded military simulator, fighting against a skin like Black Ops 6‘s new Astro Chicken can be frustrating. Possibly featuring the likenesses of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello will likely only fuel this divisiveness further. Such skins have yet to be confirmed, though. It’s also possible that such a crossover could only feature these special melee weapons. Attacking players with a katana or a skateboard may still cause some controversy, but it’s still more grounded than giant turtles with ninja skills running around the map.

As of now, these leaks can only be considered rumors until Activision confirms whether this data is accurate or not. Black Ops 6 has been a strong entry in the franchise so far, but it seems like pop culture crossovers and over-the-top skins are here to stay. Some players love it, and others hate it, but it will be interesting to see if TMNT makes its way into Black Ops 6 soon.
