The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay
Like The Great Circle, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is another good game based on a movie series. Yet, that is not the main similarity between the two titles. Escape From Butcher Bay is also a first-person action-adventure game that puts plenty of emphasis on fist fighting and stealth.
So, the core gameplay feels similar. However, the premise is very different, as you play as the titular anti-hero who tries to escape from a seemingly inescapable prison called Butcher Bay.
The developer of The Great Circle, MachineGames, was founded by former employees of Starbreeze Studios, which was one of the developers of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

Indiana Jones And The Infernal Machine
The Great Circle isn’t the first Indiana Jones game. There have been plenty of them, and The Infernal Machine is one of the best games starring the movie hero. It’s a third-person action-adventure game set in 1947, so it takes place later in the timeline than The Great Circle.
As such, Indy isn’t dealing with the Nazis in this one. Instead, he is facing off against the Soviet Union, which intends to gather the four pieces of an important device called the Infernal Machine. To get the better of them, you need to do some platforming, shoot some people, and solve puzzles.

Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein: The New Order shares a developer with The Great Circle, which is clear to anyone who has played both games. The New Order is also very cinematic and puts plenty of emphasis on the story. Plus, the stealth mechanics feel quite similar.

Every Wolfenstein Game In Chronological Order
The Wolfenstein series has seen a long line of games come out over the years, and here is the chronological order of each title’s release.
In the Wolfenstein game, you’re also taking on Nazis. However, it’s set in an alternate history where the Nazi regime won World War 2. So, you’re fighting on the side of the resistance, as the experienced Nazi killer B.J. Blazkowicz. He’s a lot more violent and ruthless than Indy, which is reflected in the game’s FPS combat, which is much more gruesome than what The Great Circle has to offer.

Deadfall Adventures
Deadfall Adventures isn’t the most beloved game in the world, as it has its issues. However, the similarities between the title and The Great Circle are clear. It’s a first-person action-adventure game starring a treasure hunter that explores strange places while solving puzzles and fighting Nazis.
So, it’s fair to assume that Deadfall Adventures took some inspiration from the Indiana Jones movies. The resulting game is a bit of an average title, especially compared to The Great Circle. Yet, it has some good things going for it, and it still provides a similar type of experience to The Great Circle.
4
Spelunky
The main character of Spelunky bears some resemblance to Indiana Jones with his brown hat and coat combination. They also both seem to be willing to explore dark, underground caves containing plenty of danger. After all, that is what Spelunky is all about.
You dig your way through randomized levels, looking for loot and getting past hazards. The game uses a 2D perspective and randomly generated levels, meaning you never know what you’re about to face.
3
Strange Brigade
From a core gameplay standpoint, Strange Brigade is very different from The Great Circle, as it’s a cooperative third-person shooter. That said, it bears some resemblance to the Indiana Jones game in other ways. For instance, the game is set in the 1930s, and you play as some adventurers.

But in Strange Brigade, you spend most of your time gunning down mythical creatures, which doesn’t happen in Indy’s game.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider
For a long time, Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series was gaming’s answer to Indiana Jones. After all, she is also an expert adventurer who continually goes to treacherous places, looking for impressive artifacts. Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of the best games of Lara Croft’s famous series. This one takes her to Siberia, searching for the city of Kitezh.
As is always the case, though, she isn’t the only one looking for it. She doesn’t have to face Nazis like Indy, but she has to deal with a paramilitary group known as Trinity. While they don’t have as bad of a reputation as the Third Reich, they’re still evil and dangerous. So, you have to either use stealth to avoid them or engage in shootouts with the villains. When you’re not dealing with the rogues, you’re climbing things and solving puzzles.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
The Uncharted series has always been similar to the Indiana Jones movies, so of course, it’s also like The Great Circle. Nathan Drake and his allies travel to the continent in an effort to find the famed Cintamani Stone. Along the way, the protagonist finds himself in plenty of perilous situations and exciting shootouts, as this is one of the most entertaining action-adventure games ever.
